A recent study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition observes evidence that may link the Mediterranean diet with lower heart failure risk, particularly in women. A Mediterranean-type diet is the heart-healthiest diet because it includes healthier fats derived from fresh foods, especially vegetables, fruits, and fish. So does this mean you need to trash everything in your refrigerator and take a trip to the supermarket? Not so fast. Check out the full article via Medical News Today to read what cardiologists like Brad Serwer, MD FACC FSCAI, Chief Medical Officer at VitalSolution, are saying about the study's limitations: https://lnkd.in/grrjRFJh

St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in rural Enid, Oklahoma, has recently made significant advancements in the care and services it offers to Oklahomans. Dr. Lior Shamai, a cardiologist and medical director at the facility, says the hospital has made great strides over the last two years in enhancing its technology, including "the Medtronic Micra leadless pacemaker which can be implanted both via the groin and has been successfully implanted via the right jugular vein. which allow very short downtime and for a same-day discharge." VitalSolution's cardiology team in Enid has also upgraded their offerings to include biventricular intracardiac defibrillators and placements and upgrades can be completed now. Dr. Shamai adds, "This technology and skills developed not only enhances patient care by offering a less invasive option but also reaffirms our commitment to bringing the latest medical advancements to Enid and the state of Oklahoma." We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Shamai and the entire cardiology team at St. Mary's for their dedication and commitment to our mission of expanding lifesaving healthcare services to rural and underserved communities. #Cardiology #MedicalAdvancements #RuralHealth

Cardiologists in rural areas are more likely to be overworked and experience an unfavorable work-life balance. So, what can we do to solve this rural healthcare dilemma? According to Brad Serwer, MD FACC FSCAI, Chief Medical Officer at VitalSolution-Cardiology, one option is to set up "creative staffing models" to cover more parts of the country. Dr. Serwer says, "Our physicians work seven days on and then get seven days off. This unique model allows our physicians to work where needed and live wherever they want — it’s a win/win for physicians and community hospitals." We'd love to hear your thoughts on how innovative solutions like this could transform healthcare in rural areas — share your ideas or experiences in the comments below. #RuralHealth #WorkLifeBalance

On October 3rd, we wear pink...and talk heart health! On #MeanGirlsDay, let's remember that being a "mean girl" isn't just bad for your social life—it can be tough on your heart too! 💔 Studies from the Journal of the American Heart Association reveal that even a brief moment of anger can increase your risk of heart disease and stroke due to constricted blood vessels. Dr. Lalit (Lou) Vadlamani, founder of VitalSolution, reminds us: “Anger and heart disease have been linked for a long time. Anger can release adrenaline bursts, at high levels, which in turn can have a harmful effect on the cardiovascular system. It can cause vessels to constrict and tighten. This in turn can put pressure on the heart." So, channel your inner Glen Coco, spread kindness, and give your heart some love today! 💓 #HeartHealth #SpreadKindness
