We are grateful to partner with Humana to bring a Fresh Start Recovery Center to Columbus, Ohio. This family-focused recovery program will help women recover from substance use disorder, break the cycle of addiction in families, improve health outcomes, and promote the birth of healthy babies
In partnership with the Volunteers of America (VOA), the Medicaid arm of our company, Humana Healthy Horizons®, is working to expand access to integrated healthcare for historically unsupported communities. One area we are helping to support is the Family-Focused Recovery (FFR), VOA’s pioneering, evidence-based approach to treating pregnant women and moms with substance use disorder and their children. VOA is breaking ground on two FFR centers in Lawton, Oklahoma and New Orleans, Louisiana this month, and will open the doors of a brand new FFR center in Columbus, Ohio in early 2025. FFR centers aim to prevent family separation, reduce risk of relapse and provide prolonged care for both the mothers and infants struggling with substance use disorder to reduce neonatal abstinence syndrome and NICU births. Across our lines of business and the Humana Foundation, we've committed more than $31M to VOA since 2019.
