**Embracing My "Second Act"** This whirlwind has been a testament to the power of forging new partnerships and navigating spaces where I was destined to be. The future is bright, and I'm excited to continue this journey of growth and impact. After 23+ years of dedicated service in City Government, empowering youth and making a tangible difference, I embarked on an incredible new journey. Teaming up with Vontelle Eyewear has opened up a world of opportunities for growth, networking, and empowerment. Over the last three months, I've had the privilege to: - Attend RaiseFashion where I was privilege of meeting the founder Felita Harris spearheading opportunities and promoting the responsibility of the workers in the fashion world to cultivate a more diverse industry, one that actively promotes and fosters BIPOC-owned businesses and BIPOC individuals. -Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) in D.C., where I met some of the most influential Black leaders, vendors and everyday supporters -visited the White House. - Attended the Amazon’s Black Employee GALA ⁃ Invited to the Women Empowerment Brunch ⁃ In the room with President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their speeches at the CBC culminating night -Invited to the Springboard Enterprises 16th Annual Awards Gala, at the NASDAQ Marketsite an evening dedicated to celebrating the incredible women entrepreneurs and the bountiful Springboard community! Shout out to the Amazon Black Business Accelerator team, Danyel & Shayna for having Vontélle at the table. Outside of my commitment to Vontélle I also enjoyed; - Celebrating at the 25th Anniversary Gala introducing Wells Fargo at the WISE Annual Gala, where I had a heartwarming reunion with P. V. Ananthram’s (previous and most powerful OMB Director) via his wife Kamala Ananthram, CPA and Managing Director Global Head of Internal Audit at Lazard, who was there presenting the Wells Fargo Award, a powerhouse in her own right! - Attended the Event Planner Expo and the Wolf & Badger private vendor meet and greet where we did extensive networking and forged exciting partnerships. - Attended the Educational Arts 50th Anniversary Gala alongside my cousin Anneicia Richards V.P. of Total rewards representing her company Fortitude for their continued sponsorship of arts programming. What an amazing night! I’m here for it All! Stay tuned!

The #HBCU experience is truly unparalleled. Recently inducted into Hampton University’s prestigious Fourty Under 40 during #Homecoming, I’m incredibly proud to be a product of such a distinguished community. Homecoming embodies family, memories, and unity, a tradition woven with love and pride. That’s why, at this year’s Congressional Black Caucus Foundation #ALC53 - the nation’s largest policy conference dedicated to African-American issues—I aimed to capture that homecoming magic. As the lead of this project with tremendous support from Michelle Matthews-Alexander, Brandon Webb, LaDavia S. Drane, Esq., and Danyel Surrency Jones, I wanted to pay tribute to the #HBCU legacy by showcasing extraordinary Black-owned businesses from Amazon’s Black Business Accelerator at the “Kickback on the Yard.” We celebrated a lineup of inspiring HBCU-founded brands, including Trivia For Us, Dosso Beauty, VONTELLE, TERMINAL B, Dungeon Forward, Mischo Beauty , FREEALITEA, The Lip Bar Inc., Buttah Skin by Dorion Renaud Black Owned Skincare, Play Pits, Ujamaa Lighting, and Lillie's of Charleston. These brands represented our HBCUs with pride—Xavier University of Louisiana, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Hampton University, Clark Atlanta University, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Virginia State University, Spelman College, Morgan State University, and Howard University School of Law—each showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation that thrives within our institutions. Research highlights that #HBCU alumni are significant contributors to entrepreneurship. Although #HBCUs represent just 3% of U.S. colleges, they account for 15% of all bachelor’s degrees awarded to Black students, many of whom move on to launch successful businesses. The unique focus on community and cultural experience helps nurture future business leaders and innovators, creating paths for economic empowerment (UNCF; Urban Institute). Big shoutout to Cimone Key, Cory Frank, and Grace Guarniere for bringing my vision to life. Check out the highlight reel—it was an experience to remember. And always, let’s support and #BuyBlack on Amazon! 🎥 Big thanks to Aaron Tucker, Othello Banaci, and Pierre Edwards for capturing this incredible journey. #BlackOwned #HBCU #HBCUsMatter #HBCUGrad #HBCUPride #AmazonBBA
