🚨 Opioid Crisis in Maryland: The Battle Continues 🚨 Opioid addiction continues to be a significant challenge in Maryland, with 2,503 fatal overdoses recorded in 2023. Although this marks a slight 3% decrease from the previous year, the crisis is far from over. Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, was involved in approximately 87% of these overdose deaths, underscoring its deadly impact. Here in Bel Air, Harford County, we’ve seen firsthand how this crisis has devastated our community. Over the past decade, Maryland has experienced a staggering 300% increase in overdose-related fatalities. Despite recent efforts to curb the tide, synthetic opioids like fentanyl continue to be the leading cause of these tragic losses. Maryland has taken critical steps to address the crisis, such as establishing the Office of Overdose Response and increasing access to naloxone, an opioid overdose reversal drug. However, the ongoing public health challenge highlights the urgent need for comprehensive prevention, treatment, and recovery services, particularly in our local communities. At Veni Vidi Vici Treatment Services, located right here in Bel Air, we are deeply committed to supporting those affected by opioid addiction. Our person-centered approach ensures that each client receives tailored care, including therapy, medication management, and life skills support, to help them achieve lasting recovery. If you or someone you know in Harford County or the surrounding areas is struggling with opioid addiction, don’t wait—reach out for help today. Visit vvvtxs.com or call us at (443) 819-3172.
