We are pleased to announce that Global Container International LLC (“GCI”), a Wafra portfolio company, has entered into definitive documentation to be acquired by Triton International Limited in a transaction valued at over $1 billion (including outstanding debt). Established in 2018 by experienced industry executives in partnership with funds managed by Wafra, GCI has since grown into a leading intermodal container lessor with a fleet of approximately half a million TEU under long-term lease. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions. Wafra is pleased to announce the sale of Short Pump Station, a 91,369-square foot shopping center in the suburbs of Richmond, VA, to global investment management firm Nuveen, a TIAA company. Wafra first invested in the retail destination, which attracts 2.3 million annual visits, putting it in the top 15% of shopping centers nationally, in 2021 via its core plus vehicle. Wafra volunteers embraced a spirit of gratitude and community by partnering with City Harvest for their “Repack to Give Back” initiative. Together, we sorted and packaged over 20,000 pounds of fresh produce into smaller portions, ensuring distribution to more than 4,200 households across New York City. We are incredibly thankful for the dedication of our volunteers and the impactful work of City Harvest. Wishing everyone a joyous holiday season!

Each year, in partnership with New York Cares, Wafra participates in the Winter Wishes gift-giving program, spreading holiday cheer to children and teens from underserved families. This year, our team granted 135 wishes, with over 80 employees contributing and celebrating together with a festive gift-wrapping party, hot cocoa, cookies, and an ugly holiday sweater contest!
