WakeEd Partnership reposted this
Educator - Curriculum Design - PBL - Helping all students find joy and purpose at school through authentic tasks and inclusive communities.
Our teams at WakeEd Partnership and Helping Education have had a busy few weeks launching HELPS 1:1 tutoring at eight of our returning Wake County Public School System elementary schools: Bugg, Lincoln Heights, Wendell, Lynn Road, Baileywick, Wakefield, Green, and Millbrook. We are so thankful for our amazing volunteers who consistently heed the call to support early literacy in schools. ❤️ Thank you to the fabulous HELPS coaches and project managers for building relationships and empowering our volunteers to deliver effective literacy instruction: Anam Lodhi Heather Kasdan Katie Thompson Finley Baldwin Alexandra Arcaya 💪🏽 Over the following weeks, we will continue to expand by placing volunteers into over 20 new schools to provide one-on-one high-dosage tutoring to 2nd - 5th grade students using the HELPS curriculum. We are so excited … and we need your help! 👈 We’re almost halfway to our goal of 150 new tutors. You can help by sharing this opportunity with your network or even signing up to tutor yourself! All it takes is about one hour a week. To learn more, see a list of schools, and sign up for training, visit https://lnkd.in/eggeq2CK 📚

This week we hosted a series of 2024 School Board Candidate Forums together with the Wake County PTA Council and the Greater Raleigh Chamber. Candidates for all five school board races on the ballot participated and they feature questions submitted by Wake County parents. Take a look and get to know the candidates better and their positions on key issues. You can also play these on your commute or while multitasking- they're just as easy to listen to as watch! You can view them all on YouTube at https://lnkd.in/eDpk3DU3
