This weekend, the Wake Robin team participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. There were 117 teams in this year’s walk and all funds raised aid The Alzheimer’s Association in the fight to end Alzheimer’s. The walk was two miles long throughout the Shelburne Museum grounds and exhibits. What a beautiful day! Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Wake Robin ‘painted the town purple’ to bring awareness to the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Residents and staff wore their finest purple threads as a reminder of the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 29, at the Shelburne Museum. Wake Robin will be participating, and the team are already hard at work raising donations. We hope to see you there!

Wake Robin said goodbye to UVM’s first Occupational Therapy students. The Occupational Therapy program is a brand-new offering at the University of Vermont. Wake Robin welcomed two students who worked closely with the OT team for 2 and 12 weeks(respectively) as a part of their fieldwork experience. They focused on working with an older adult population in rehab, outpatient, and long-term care settings as well as focusing on orthopedics, neurology, neurocognitive disorders, cardiopulmonary, and physical disabilities. While we are sorry to see them leave, we cannot wait to see what the future holds for them – congratulations!

Wake Robin Staff & Residents are ‘screaming for ice cream’ for the Scoop Ice cream truck when it comes to visit! This event was organized by CORE, Wake Robin’s employee wellness initiative, which also sponsors raffles at the farmer’s markets, walking challenges, free children’s books, Wake Robin swag, and much more. These benefits are just another reason why working at Wake Robin is fun! Thanks, CORE!

Wake Robin chefs attended the Vermont Fresh Network Forum Dinner at Shelburne Farms along with local restaurants, farms, specialty food and beverage artisans located around the Champlain Valley. The tasting they prepared was squab with a lotus root, sudachi syrup, chili crisp, and basil. Ryan Meath, Bill Iliff, and Lucas LaBounty were awarded honorable mention for Best Bite of the evening. Congratulations!
