Look at that tradeshow design! We loved working with REMA TIP TOP North America Inc on this design project with Apple Rock Displays. The end result is a beautiful, sleek design that perfectly encapsulates the Rema Tip Top brand. If you were at MINExpo last week, we hope that you saw it and had the opportunity to talk to the industry experts at Rema Tip Top.

This election season, North Carolina voters will be asked to present a photo ID when they vote — whether in person or by absentee ballot. This is an update to the way people vote, and we were honored to assist the NC State Board of Elections in getting the word out and informing the public. Together with Remedy, we created a commercial informing voters of the change — while providing additional information on what forms of ID are accepted and how they can learn more about getting a free ID before election day. Check out the video and don’t forget to register to vote in North Carolina: https://bit.ly/3i11Qxv

At Walk West, our account supervisors wear a lot of hats. From client meetings to organizing vendors to managing workflows and tasks, they cover a lot of ground. When you have anywhere from five to ten meetings a day, you learn the best ways to manage your social battery. That’s why our Senior Account Supervisor Susie Clark is coming at you with five ways she recharges her social battery after (or during) a meeting-heavy day.

    • Employee: Susie Clark, Senior Account Supervisor.
Subject: Top 5 Favorite Ways to Recharge Your Social Battery.
    • 1. Get in Some Movement
Taking a moment to step away and move my body, usually by taking my dog on a 30-minute walk, helps me recharge and refocus.
    • 2. Play the Quiet Game.
I’ll do something to decompress while not talking to anyone. This includes cooking dinner, listening to music, doing a quick chore, or something similar.
    • 3. Do Something Mindless.
Reality TV is my go-to for this, or a show I’ve seen before.
    • 4. Meditate.
When I feel like my communication abilities are starting to slip, I’ll set a timer for 20-30 minutes and practice quiet mindfulness.

From rizz to cheugy – and every term in between – a new generation of slang is equally taking the world by storm and befuddling most people over 30. So what happens when we ask some of our Walk Westies to define Gen-Z slang without looking up their actual definition? The results will probably not shock you.

This past weekend we got to #DrinkBeerDoGood at Hops For Hope! Thanks to y’all, we met our fundraising goal for Children's Flight of Hope. No child should be denied access to the medical care they need because of cost or transportation, and we’re honored to support this organization. It was a great time partnering with Proximity Brewing on our beer, the Carolina Peach, which we served up as a beer float with Andia's Ice Cream French vanilla. We can’t wait for next year!

Do you have a favorite typeface? Typography plays an essential role in website design. Without a good typeface, proper spacing, and a well-designed hierarchy, websites would just be big globs of text that nobody — including the Google search engine — wants to read. At Walk West, our designers have typography down to a science. Check out our latest blog to learn more: https://bit.ly/4cZhoxd

    • Typography & Web Design.
The Five Key Elements You Need to Know.
    • Typeface vs. Fonts:
A typeface is a set of distinct glyphs that characterize a style of letters. Fonts, on the other hand, are variations within a typeface, like italic or bold.
    • Hierarchy:
Information is laid out in order of importance, making it easier for readers to know how to read a page.
    • Spacing:
The space between lines of text, as well as between individual letters in a word, helps increase readability on a page.
    • Contrast:
The difference between the thick and thin parts of a letterform creates its contrast. Contrast helps create a visual hierarchy, making things easier to navigate.
