September 11th changed all of us. For many of the veterans we serve through Built for More, it was more than a tragic day—it was a turning point. Watching the attacks unfold stirred a deep sense of responsibility and a desire to protect our country. The events of that day made it clear that freedom isn’t guaranteed, and the threat against it was real and immediate. That call to defend the nation led many to step forward and join the military. For them, it wasn’t just about fighting an enemy; it was about standing up for their families, their neighbors, and the values that make our country strong. As we remember the lives lost on that day, we also honor the brave men and women who answered the call to serve. Their sacrifice reminds us that even in our darkest moments, the spirit of service and unity endures.
