Honoring service and sacrifice on Navajo Code Talkers Day. Today we pay respect to the Native Americans who helped create a complex code during WWII that gave the Allied forces a unique military advantage. Many historians say this code was nearly unbreakable and helped expedite the end of WWII, saving many lives.   Code talkers worked in pairs to communicate important information. In order to safeguard the code, there were no manuals, and each individual had to memorize its entirety. Ronald Raegan officially declared National Code Talkers Day on August 14, 1982, recognizing the sacrifice and contributions of the code talkers years after their service. Only 3 of the original code talkers are still alive today: Thomas H. Begay, John Kinsel, Sr., and Peter MacDonald, Sr. We are forever grateful for their ingenuity and service. #militaryhistory #supportveterans #innovation

Happy PE Day! Today marks the 9th annual Professional Engineers Day, recognizing those who have obtained their professional engineers license. The PE license signifies proof of competency, and PEs must continue education and requirements to maintain their license. I earned mine in 1998, 26 years ago. I am proud to be a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.   Some people have asked why I display the PE behind my name, even though I am President of Wartech Engineering. I have always been an Engineer first, and an owner and leader second. I founded Wartech Engineering as a one man operation offering engineering services, and I never forgot where I started. I love being in the shop and working hands-on alongside the team of patriots that all come together to design and build innovative projects. The best part of my job isn't making a dollar, it's making a difference.   I am looking forward to welcoming a new Chief Engineer to work alongside our team of patriots. Today on Purple Heart Day, we pay tribute to the courage and resilience of the brave men and women who were wounded in combat while defending our freedom. Some gave the ultimate sacrifice, and they have our solemn gratitude and respect. First awarded by George Washington in 1782 under the name "Badge of Military Merit", the Purple Heart medal honors the US Warfighters that sustained injuries, but also recognizes their enduring service and selfless sacrifices. Every August 7 is an opportunity to reflect upon the reasons we can live the lives that we do and enjoy the freedoms that we have: the brave men and women who defend our country. The first annual Independence Day Drive is officially complete.
