About us
The Washington State Academy of Sciences (WSAS) is an independent, nonprofit organization of more than 375 elected members who are nationally recognized for their scientific and technical expertise. All members of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine who reside in Washington State are invited to join; others are elected in recognition of their scientific and technical contributions to our nation and their desire to contribute their expertise to inform issues in Washington State. WSAS mobilizes the expertise of its members, plus a network of partners, to provide nonpartisan, non-advocate scientific and engineering assessments on issues that impact the citizens, governments and businesses of Washington State.
