We wanted to take a break from the norm and highlight the awesome efforts we've been seeing on social media by mines and construction companies to combat destruction caused by Hurricane Helene in the southern U.S. Hedrick Industries | Mining Operations in NC, SC, and TN Employees at facilities affected by the storm have been working hard to clean up so they can mobilize. Where they can, facilities have been working hard to supply North Carolina DOT trucks to rebuild roads and infrastructure. Heidelberg Materials, Southeast Region | Mine Sites throughout the Southeast President Scott Dickson reported that Heidelberg Materials made a donation of $75,000 to the American Red Cross and are matching employee donations. They’re also offering help to team members and the community. Maymead, Inc. | Paving Contractor Serving NC, TN, and VA Despite losing one of their team members and their facilities being flooded, they're mobilizing to help reconstruct roads damaged by the floods. Please share other examples you’ve seen!

This week our community relations manager, Eve, is visiting the nation’s capitol for the NSSGA’s Legislative and Policy Forum. This forum gives us a chance to join with other industry members and meet our elected representatives on a day called Hill Day. The purpose of Hill Day is to talk to our representatives about issues that affect our businesses, to share our stories, and to advocate for positive changes. This year’s Washington State Hill Day group poses in front of the U.S. Capitol in the attached photo. #WashingtonRock #mining #mininglife #quarry #quarrylife #rocksbuildamerica
