Congrats to Tara C. Smith and the team at the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services! Governor Inslee just gave a wonderful (and well-deserved) shout out to DES during the Results Washington conference for what he called the most beautiful capitol campus in the country. As a public service nerd, I've been to many state capitols. (Just ask my teenagers - they will groan and tell you all the capitols they have had to tour.) I'm so grateful to live in the State of Washington and to get to enjoy our campus.

🌟 Reflecting on Washington Procurement Connect 2024! 🌟 What an incredible experience at the Washington Procurement Connect 2024 conference, held at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center! A huge thank you to Washington State Department of Enterprise Services, Ernesto Perez, Shana Barehand, Tara C. Smith, Cedric Austin, and ALL the volunteers who made this event possible. Additional thanks to Pamela Duncan, Jackie Bayne, David Puente, Jr, CDE Javier Valdez for your insights and shared experiences in the fireside chat panel. (BTW, we all loved the chimney 🔥 !) The Collaborative Contracting: Forming Powerful Alliances for Government Bids session presented by ZENOVIA HARRIS, MPA, CDP was insightful and I found it validated our company's approach so far. And… to everyone who stopped by the Aponwao Ideas booth, thank you. It was fantastic to connect with so many Washington State procurement professionals and inspiring small business entrepreneurs. I genuinely appreciate the meaningful conversations and connections we've formed. I'm eager to see where these new relationships take us! Thank you to Washington State Department of Enterprise Services for hosting Washington Procurement Connect this week! The event felt like it was accomplishing countless hours of emails with a single day-long in-person event! I met folks who I want to collaborate with, made connections with people who had similar values as me, and got some fun swag too. I had a wonderful time and am excited to attend more events like this. Shout out to ZENOVIA HARRIS, MPA, CDP's presentation on Collaborative Contracting. Her presentation was clear, concise, and relatable. It gave me a lot to think about as I consider how and why to build community as a small business owner. Thank you ZENOVIA HARRIS, MPA, CDP for giving me the tools to think about these things 🙂
