It was such a joy to reconnect, revitalize, and reimagine last week with so many incredible colleagues at Waterford.org’s annual Fall Summit in Salt Lake City! I’m deeply grateful for the work we get to do—opening doors for PreK-2nd grade students through strong foundations in reading, math, and science, and sparking a lifelong love of learning. Together, we’re committed to making a lasting impact and shaping a brighter future for the next generation.

It’s a breath of fresh air seeing our early learners so engaged with the Waterford.org program! Ms. Herrera from New Mexico is helping her PreK students become “Super Readers!” There are a lot of programs out there. The Waterford program is by far the most developmentally appropriate program for early learners! “Catching” kids early….it’s what we do! Now tell me…does it get any more precious than this? Thank you, Ms. Herrera, for making learning EXCITING! Valerie King, thank YOU for leading the way!

Families want to be involved in setting and supporting their child’s learning goals—but they’re not always looped in on what their child will learn and why it’s important. The thousands of families we interviewed told us that academic content—the ‘A’ in our CARES framework for family engagement—is important to them. They want to be brought into their child’s learning journey with information and activities they can do at home. Education leaders can learn how to better partner with families for student success with our ebook: the CARES Framework for Building Family Engagement. 📒 https://lnkd.in/e7ccUVUP #EarlyEducation #EarlyLearning #FamilyEngagement #Literacy #EdTech #ProfessionalLearning

We interviewed thousands of families to learn how they want to be supported, and how education leaders can meet families where they are. In our CARES Framework for Building Family Engagement, ‘C’ is for communication—because that’s what families value most with educators. Families want non-judgemental dialogue. This is the bedrock of effective family-teacher relationships and helps build trust. Another must-have for families is clear, concise information. Learn what else families want from school leaders with our CARES family engagement ebook. 📙 https://lnkd.in/e7ccUVUP #EarlyEducation #EarlyLearning #FamilyEngagement #Literacy #EdTech #ProfessionalLearning

We know that successful education solutions include families and strengthen communities—but what does that actually look like? After interviewing thousands of families, Waterford expert Jennifer Torres, EdD created a framework that delivers the support families want, and is easy for education leaders to incorporate into their programs: the CARES Framework for Building Family Engagement.
