With Boston now Waterhouse’s East Coast hub, our Head of Integrated Communications, Terri Clevenger, and Meredith Kiernan spent last week immersed in the Massachusetts biotech ecosystem—home to the world’s second-largest biotech cluster—at MassBio’s State of Possible conference. Reflective and celebratory—that was the mood at yesterday’s Ragan Communications and PR Daily 2025 Top Women in Communications Awards, where Waterhouse Founder, CEO, and Chief Brand Strategist Kimberly Kraemer was honored as an “Agency Dynamo.” In her acceptance speech, Kim spoke to the genesis of Waterhouse, and the wisdom she’s gained along the way, not just as a leader, but also based on the particular experience of building a career as a working mother. As Kim commented up on the awards stage: “Balancing a career and motherhood led me to build an agency that supports women and professionals at every life stage by having a culture that really enables us all to thrive at home and in our careers.” Thanks again to longtime Waterhouse client Exelixis Susan Hubbard Claire (McConnaughey) Murray Lindsay Treadway for this gracious nomination. We had so much fun celebrating the launch of Arcellx’s new intranet, the Domain, with the company’s team members last week. Waterhouse was honored to help bring this new corporate channel to life. An effective employee intranet should serve as more than just a repository of documents - it should also enhance communication, collaboration and culture - and be tailored to the needs of the company and its workforce. In Arcellx’s case, we surveyed team members and heard that their key priorities for the intranet were reducing email, streamlining and organizing information, connecting with team members across their bicoastal campuses, and being able to access the intranet from their mobile devices. With all that in mind, features of the Domain include: - Custom sites for departments, office locations and culture groups - Smart search functionality - People directory with custom profiles - Feed that promotes social interaction, including a peer recognition module - Custom branded app for iPhone and Android In the meantime, why the name? We love a good double entendre over here at Waterhouse, and this name is no exception. Directly referencing Arcellx's D-domain technology, the Domain also emphasizes that the company’s intranet is the digital sphere of knowledge for Arcellx.
