About us

We focus on connecting the local business community with each other as well as connecting businesses with the Waunakee Area Community. Together we are all stronger. Our over 300 members are businesses, organizations, and individuals who care about the socioeconomic climate of the Waunakee Area. Our members know that when we are joined together, we stand a better chance of getting things done when speaking with a collective voice. Our day to day operations take place in a historic train depot station located in the heart of downtown Waunakee. The Chamber is open to serve the public year round.

Today marks Community Development Director Tim Semmann's last day with the Village. He's looking forward to new adventures in his retirement. A few accomplishments of note during Tim's tenure with the Village includes: - Helping to facilitate an amendment to TIF 9 and creation of TIF 10 to help foster development in the Business Park - Awarded $50,000 in grant funding to assist in the improvement and expansion of the outdoor meeting space near the depot/Reeve Park - Several ordinance amendments related to process improvement and quality of life (parking, lighting, airport overlay, residential unit size) - Helping to facilitate the expansion of Waunakee’s affordable housing fund - Moving our development intake process to the digital realm We're looking forward to beginning our time with our new Community Development Director, Lauren Dietz. Lauren is a UW graduate returning to the public sector after completing her MCRP (Master of Community and Regional Planning) and MBA degrees at Iowa State University, and most recently worked as a planning consultant throughout Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Her experience includes local planning & zoning, long-range planning, rural and neighborhood economic development, and multimodal transportation. Lauren will be joining our team on Monday, January 8th. Please join us in welcoming her and thanking Tim for all of his great contributions to the Village's success.
