Meet Patricia Thomasson, CEO and Chairwoman of Thomasson Company (TC), with the Women’s Business Enterprise Council South (WBEC South) Regional Partner Organization. Pat grew up in the lumber business and was seven when her parents established their wholesale lumber company. “TC was truly a family business,” Pat said. “Many of my memories center around time spent at the office and the different jobs I would be given. My parents were better at different things, but they both helped me to appreciate that every business function is essential and important. We had a lot of ups and downs, but my parents taught me to be strong, work hard and appreciate my co-workers.” The early business experience and a solid moral compass have given Pat a lot of credibility throughout the business community. Prior to assuming the role of CEO leading the family business, Pat worked at Arthur Anderson in New Orleans, the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office in Jackson, and held many other hats at TC. WBENC is proud to spotlight the WBENC-Certified WBE Dr. Yasmin Davidds, CEO of Dr. Yasmin Davidds, CEO of Dr. Yasmin Davidds Leadership Institute, a mission-driven women’s leadership institute preparing innovative women professionals to emerge, succeed, and support each other globally. The institute offers intensive programs designed to help women advance to top positions of influence. We asked Lili what Hispanic Heritage Month means to her! "Hispanic Heritage Month is an important time for me as a business owner because it provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the contributions, cultures, and histories of the Hispanic and Latinx communities. For my business, which is deeply rooted in leadership development and emotional intelligence for women, it's a reminder of the importance of inclusivity, diversity, and representation. It highlights the need for businesses to foster environments that support diverse perspectives, allowing for a more holistic approach to problem-solving, innovation, and collaboration. By honoring Hispanic Heritage Month, I’m not only celebrating the rich traditions of this community but also reaffirming my commitment to equity in leadership. It serves as a moment to reflect on how we can better advocate for underrepresented voices within our business and beyond, ensuring that our work helps pave the way for future Hispanic leaders who can make a profound impact in their industries and communities. It’s also an opportunity to highlight our dedication to serving diverse groups with customized leadership and emotional intelligence programs that speak to their unique cultural experiences, values, and challenges." #wbenc #HispanicHeritageMonth
