About us

The Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), founded in 1997, is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the United States. WBENC, a national 501(c)(3) non-profit, partners with 14 Regional Partner Organizations to provide its world class standard of certification to women-owned businesses throughout the country. WBENC is also the nation's leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers to America's corporations. WBENC's Mission The Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is dedicated to advancing the success of Corporate Members, certified women's business enterprises (WBEs), and government entities in partnership with its Regional Partner Organizations (RPOs).

    Nominate yourself or a peer for the 2025 Enterprising Women of the Year Award with Enterprising Women! Nominees must be the majority owner or partner in their company and have been in business a minimum of three years. Judges look for financially increasing revenues over the past three years, leadership in your community at the local, state, national or international level, and mentorship or support for other women or girls informally or through established mentoring programs. Winners and champions (finalists) should be available to attend the 23rd Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration & Conference, March 27-29, 2025 at the Grand Hyatt in Nashville. The awards gala is on the evening of March 29, 2025. All honorees will also be featured in the Spring 2025 issue of Enterprising Women magazine.
