The WCNC Charlotte sales team recently had the chance to have some team bonding time while making an impact in the community. Half of the team organized a new classroom for a local child development center and the other half assembled snack bags for kids in the community and then boxed the bags for distribution. Way to go team!

WCNC Charlotte with our iHeartRadio partners helped make an impact with Hurricane Helene Relief efforts by holding a phone bank Thursday to raise funds for the American Red Cross. Lowe's Companies, Inc., Truist, Bojangles' Restaurants, Inc. and the Charlotte Hornets together donated a whopping $3,775,000 to the American Red Cross. WCNC Charlotte and the TEGNA Foundation matched the first $5,000 donated to the phone bank. Charlotte-based companies Hughes Floor Covering and Closets by Design each donated $2,500. So far the WCNC total raised is $141,000 and that number continues to grow by the hour. A big thanks to our community for their donation and support!

Four-day totals of Operation Airdrop include: 700,000 pounds of supplies trucked, 317,677 pounds of supplies flown by air, 50+ airport and remote drop sites, and 657 Starlinks dropped in remote areas.
