On the morning of September 11, 2001, the world as we knew it changed. The terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and United Flight 93 were the deadliest in U.S. history and reshaped how we think about foreign adversaries. Today and every day, we honor those who lost their lives and the bravery of the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice running into the fire to save others. As citizen leaders, it’s our duty not only to remember our history, but to keep it alive by continuing to tell the stories of those who were lost, and those who gave their lives to save others. Young people need to know that in the shadows of the worst of humanity, the best of humanity was revealed through the heroism and unity that emerged. They need to know there’s reason to believe in America and feel pride for our nation’s values. Moments like this are what we mean when we say the words "Never Forget." We encourage you to reflect on what “Never Forget” means to you and your family. How can you pass on the lessons of September 11 to the next generation, and how can you honor those who lost their lives on that fateful day?

In our Roundtable Discussion with Congresswoman Michelle Steel, we explored her extensive role as a public servant and one of the first Korean-American women in Congress. With her leadership focused on stopping inflation, fixing our economy, and standing up to external adversities, her contributions are pivotal to shaping California’s future. These sessions are integral to our community, offering a platform to engage directly with policymakers like Rep. Steel, who are actively shaping the legislative landscape for the betterment of our constituents and state 🇺🇲

After three powerful virtual briefings last week at Alder, the common theme is a call to unity. In the aftermath of the attempted assassination of former President Trump, we brought you key insights first. From a former Secret Service agent to Congressman Ryan Zinke, and yesterday, rally hero Rico Elmore, who bravely acted to save others. Each briefing has emphasized our core values: service before self, community first, and civic engagement. These ideals unite us all. Members can tune in today to our conversation with Alder Member Bradley Tusk, who has led some of the nation’s most high profile Democratic and Independent campaigns and worked with politicians like Chuck Schumer and Michael Bloomberg. He’ll join us to deliver his no-BS point of view on what’s next for the Democratic party, the emergence of Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s nominee for President, and what this means for the future of this campaign. We thank you for your trust and support 🇺🇸
