She currently calls North Gaza home, but with a fragile ceasefire, that could change at any moment. But somehow, Salma handles the uncertainty with next-level creativity. We can’t get over how she managed to print the Seen Palestine logo and stick it onto a broken karaoke mic. The mic is a prop, but her interviews are very real. 🧸No 13-year-old should grow up without toys But even before Oct 7, Israel banned toys, paper, pens and musical instruments from entering Gaza. Why? Security, according to Israel. 🎨No 13-year-old should live without stationery But because even notepads are banned from entering Gaza, Salma draws on rubble. 🍪No 13-year-old should live without biscuits Israel won’t allow these sweet treats in. But that won’t stop Salma from making them herself! 💃🏽No one can stop this 13-year-old from dancing Salma teaches other displaced kids how to do the Palestinian Dabke. ✊🏽Israel can’t stop this 13-year-old from speaking out Salma protests for the rights of all children in Gaza, even though Israel consistently kills protestors. Salma tells me that she dreams of being an artist, an activist and a journalist - but I think she’s already all three. This 13-year-old demands to be SEEN. 💬Salma’s message to the world: I hope you will hear my call and the children’s, and fulfill our demands. We have the right to live in peace, to learn, and to play. Salma started working with Seen Palestine in June, 2024. Back then, she had 3,500 Instagram followers.
