What do you do every day? Whether it’s fixing leaky pipes, facilitating equestrian therapy, or feeding hungry customers, YOU can aid foster families and the children in their care. We need professionals in every field to donate services for meaningful impact. Foster parenting is only one way to help children. Equipping families with services like art classes or roof repairs offers so much value to their lives. Give kids the opportunity to flourish in foster care. About us
Providing children in foster care and the child protection system with educational programs, community-connected resources, and the unique opportunities they need to thrive. We Care provides children in foster care with the opportunities and resources they need to be successful. Here’s how We Care: We Collaborate with our community partners. We Connect the community’s generosity and resources with a child’s hopes and needs. We Create unique programs to help children thrive. We Care Foster Care believes in the fundamental desire on the part of our citizens to give generously and support the work of caring for all the children in foster care and the child protection system. We believe in the power of one individual to make a difference in the life of a child and imagine the unlimited power that could be harnessed if each individual donated their time, talent, and treasure to just one child in need. We believe that this power benefits not only the child it directly impacts, but also the lineage of that child moving forward in a life that is safe, abundant, and successful.

Interested in applying to be a foster parent, but fear of the unknown holding you back? Don’t worry, we’ll fill you in. Here’s what to expect: Potential foster parents submit an application. A licensing worker schedules meetings with the potential foster parents, both in the office and at home. These meetings take place at times that work best for the applicants. During the first meeting, the worker details policies and expectations of foster parents. This is a great opportunity for potential foster parents to have their own questions answered. The worker gets to know the potential foster parents and their family. (Everyone likes to talk about themselves, right? This part is all about them!) Potential foster parents should be ready to share medical statements, character references, and criminal history. This step might seem overwhelming, but keep in mind, these documents can be submitted after the initial meetings with the licensing worker. Now that you have an idea of how the process works, maybe you’re ready to apply. Or maybe you feel more equipped to support children in foster care in a different way. No matter which path you take, a child in care depends on your next step. Find out how to help at any of these links! https://loom.ly/stNRAMg https://loom.ly/m-XJ2Rs

Have you ever been impacted by kindness? A coach who supported you in your victories and failures. A parent who loved you through your difficult or rebellious moments. A friend who lifted you up when you were struggling. Kindness has the power to transform even our darkness moments into shining moments of impact. You can give this kindness to others. The question isn’t if you are capable. But if you are willing. How will you show kindness to those around you today?

This week, fourteen We Care Teens are at basketball camp with former NBA player, Greg Kelser! This was made possible when Mr. Kelser himself awarded them fourteen full scholarships to his Gregory Kelser’s Basketball Camp. Five days with a vibrant program of drills, full-court games, and sessions on teamwork and sportsmanship, this experience is one the boys will never forget. As a strong advocate for education, Mr. Kelser doesn’t simply help his campers develop skills on the court. Through his talks each day, he also emphasizes the importance of determined, lifelong learning, using examples from his own life to drive the message home. Greg Kelser is making a positive impact on our We Care Teens. Visit https://loom.ly/d469w0g to learn more
