Speck, was a noted Philadelphia-based inventor and early-20th-century carpet designer. The Asplundh Cancer Pavilion recently celebrated International Self-Care Day. Patients, caregivers and staff enjoyed aromatherapy sessions, DIY flower bouquets, and plenty of puppy cuddles courtesy of Take-A-Paws, Asplundh’s pet therapy program. Peace in the Storm, a local organization, also donated handmade mastectomy pillows, lumpectomy pillows and care packages for patients. The event was hosted by Asplundh’s Social Work Team in collaboration with Jefferson Abington Hospital’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Council.
