About us
Welcome to WEATHINGTON, where we dedicate ourselves to the aggressive and effective representation of clients in litigation matters throughout the State of Georgia. We appreciate your interest in who we are and what we do. Since its origin, the firm has specialized in the defense of professionals and entities that provide one of society's most necessary services: Healthcare. We defend hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in cases involving a wide array of claims, from malpractice to fraud. We also defend manufacturers of medical devices in cases attacking the efficacy, safety, and design of their products. However, the firm's experience and expertise do not revolve solely around healthcare. Our lawyers have successfully represented clients, both within and outside of the medical industry, in lawsuits involving a broad array of other areas of the law, including premises liability, general commercial and contract disputes, and employment litigation.

WEATHINGTON was once again a proud Platinum sponsor of the Resurgens Charitable Foundation Golf Tournament. The Resurgens Foundation continues its incredible work raising funds to provide playgrounds and accessible recreational spaces throughout the Atlanta area. This year, Paul Weathington and Charlie Haack represented the Firm on the course, and they took home 1st and 2nd place! A huge thanks to their teammates as well – Tim Arnoult, Grant LeRoux, Brian Ferris, Dan Hall, Sam Lape, and Brooks Colquitt. It was a fantastic day for an even better cause, and we're proud to support the Resurgens Foundation in their efforts to give back to the community.

This week, WEATHINGTON hosted our 4th annual Women’s Initiative Event at Bellina Alimentari! Our incredible women attorneys and clients gathered for an evening of pasta making, networking, and meaningful conversations. We’re proud to continue fostering a culture of empowerment and growth, both personally and professionally, for our employees and clients. Events like these highlight the strength of our community and the importance of supporting one another. A big thank you to everyone who attended, including Paul Weathington, who joined us for the evening. We’re already looking forward to the next event and the opportunity to come together again!

WEATHINGTON attorneys obtain a defense verdict in a wrongful death case in Fulton County. Seleta Griffin and Erin Coia secured a defense verdict for our client, a physician, in a recent case in which the Plaintiff’s decedent presented with suspected C. Diff after surgery and alleged that the wrong antibiotic was prescribed, diabetes was mismanaged, and that failure to transfer to higher-level care led to the decedent’s eventual death. The Plaintiff asked for $15 million. Legal nurse consultant Lisa Pollock also played a key role in this case. After only 1.5 hours of deliberation, the jury found in favor of the doctor and his employer, clearing our client of all claims. We are proud to have achieved this result on behalf of our client.

WEATHINGTON attorneys obtained a defense verdict for our orthopedic surgeon last week in Carroll County (Mr. Weathington’s hometown). Paul Weathington served as lead counsel with Charles Haack as his second chair. Legal nurse consultant Deborah Sullivan assisted with the case. The case concerned a lytic lesion in the spine resulting from metastatic cancer. The orthopedic surgeon was accused of failing to transfer the patient and provide proper follow-up care after their admission to Tanner Medical Center. The Plaintiff's attorney sought $20 million from the jury. The Plaintiff also brought claims against the hospital, three hospitalists, and medical oncologists, all of whom were exonerated. The jury returned a verdict in favor of all Defendants.
