Last July 30th, we hosted the 8th Arampangan with the theme: "Collaboration for Social Good" – a theme that resonates deeply with our work at Binhi Mindful Market and Weaving Ecosystems. We were invited to share the story of Binhi sa Rurungan (BSR), showcasing our market-driven approach to collaboration. Together with my partner, Ria Lim of Rurungan Sa Tubod Foundation, we discussed the motivations behind our partnership, the community ecosystem model that emerged through working with our partner merchants, and the creation of Weaving Ecosystems — an initiative that aims to refine, scale, and replicate the BSR model, further amplifying our impact. Grateful to Ashoka Philippines and xchange PH for their support, and to my fantastic co-organizers Kevin Lee and Aira Luneta of A Single Drop for Safe Water, Amina Evangelista Swanepoel of Roots of Health, Jessica Labaja of Large Marine Vertebrates Research Institute Philippines (LAMAVE), and Frank Chiu. Special thanks to our Binhi sa Rurungan merchant partners who showed up to support Ria and me! 💚 I am a firm believer in the power of open and inclusive dialogue. Collaboration – the combining of skills, knowledge, and resources – is crucial for strengthening advocacies and creating more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable systems.
