Swarms are the most important tech framework of 2024: 1. Swarms of autonomous drones are already reshaping warfare in Ukraine 2. Swarms of AI Agents are on the verge of becoming the dominant deployment model for GenAI apps in the Enterprise and Consumer markets 3. Swarms of nodes in DDOS attacks, bots in credential stuffing attacks and other bots on social media spam are unmitigated cybersecurity risks today 4. Swarms of entangled qubits in quantum superposition, represent existential cybersecurity risk. We need a kill switch today for AI, for autonomous drones and for swarm cyber attacks. We also need a kill switch tomorrow for the pending quantum-based cyber attacks. Poetically - that kill switch we need is a swarm itself! A swarm of autonomous ephemeral post quantum-safe keys. The control plane for all 4 swarm examples above depends on key management for identity, authentication and authorization. Autonomous Key Management is the simple, safe and compliant way to unleash a swarm of keys on behalf of your users, systems and data. This swarm of keys represents an overwhelming set of moving targets for cyber adversaries to attack. It's not a question of if, but when swarm cybersecurity becomes the norm for mitigating these key risks. Enterpise AI is young, and Enterpise AI cybersecurity is embryonic. We need to focus on alignment relative to control. Shockingly few are focused on the dominant autonomous AI agent ramifications of this, about to revolutionize both individual, business and cyber crime behavior in 2024. Richard Ngo (AI governance at OpenAI) has published an important framework of: 1. AI alignment at training / fine-tuning, relative to 2. AI control at inference / RAG 3. AI alignment vs control summarized here: https://lnkd.in/gXDBbMPK Vishwas Manral (cloud native security lead McAfee) does a great job below diving into the Authorization (AuthZ RBAC) aspects of AI, particularly important for autonomous AI agents. At the QSI Foundation and AI Autonomous Cyber Systems, we are focused on extending authentication to exert maximum security and _control_ of autonomous AI agents. Fear and risk of ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence) overlords can be mitigated via this ‘alignment with control’ framework. It’s existentially vital as we enter the era of autonomous AI-based weapons systems. This framework is also personally relatable as AI buyer agents optimally fill our eCommerce carts, AI support agents process our returned items, write our emails and do our taxes, etc…
