Weld County's Public Information Office is hiring a Communications Specialist to manage communication projects, oversee the implementation of those projects and analyze the measurable outcomes of said projects. You will be responsible for creating public information initiatives and campaigns on a variety of communication platforms for multiple divisions under the Department of Human Services programs, in order to assist divisions with reaching their program goals and objectives, as well as assisting the county overall reach the communication and public engagement goals as outlined in the county's strategic plan. Karla Ford, Weld County Office Manager for the board of commissioners, doesn’t simply schedule meetings and pass paperwork to staff, she also oversees the county’s 20 boards and commissions. She’s proud to help facilitate volunteer opportunities for residents to give input and learn more about county services. It’s something she’s done for the past 10 years, and it’s garnered 212 volunteers. Serving on a board is a unique experience, she says, as people can gain inside access to decision-making process and how county government and its departments work.
