Water... We're working for you.

About us

Water. Our most precious resource is being wasted. Annual demand for fresh water far exceeds availability in the Southwest, because of drought, climate change, population growth, and other factors. The Western Water Project (WWP) is proposing that a freshwater undersea pipeline goes from the mouth of the Columbia River at Astoria, Oregon to a point above Monterey Bay, then overland to connect to the California aqueduct system. The Columbia River empties 200 million acre-feet (65 thousand trillion gallons) of unused fresh water annually into the ocean at Astoria, Oregon. This is over two times the amount of water used in California alone! The Northwest states can lay claim to the Columbia River based on first in use, first in right, only if they sell it. Northwest states will then forever control the Columbia River watershed. By forming a coalition of water-exporting states, they can sell a small portion of unneeded Columbia River water to the Southwest states, netting $200 billion a year. Water Wins for Everyone! Northwest water-exporting states can sell 2% of the surplus Columbia River water for $200 billion annually. » WIN! Water-exporting states will forever control the flow. » WIN! Large water supply increase for Southwest cities and farms. » WIN! Less water demand on the Colorado River so more water to share for Southwestern states. » WIN! The western United States faces an ongoing challenge of securing sufficient water resources to support their growing populations, agriculture, and industries while dealing with more drought conditions and depleating fresh water supplies. We are starting an initiative that relieves the water shortage in the Southwest states with water from the Columbia River in the Northwest states. Our mission is to introduce a bold initiative to supply fresh water to the Southwest and create revenue for the Northwest using surplus Columbia River water. Our goal is to work with the public, the legislators, and tribal governments in 11 states to promote and adopt this bold initiative with legislation, so that the water works for everyone. #WaterForLife #DroughtSolution #NorthwestToSouthwest #WaterProject #SustainableFuture #CleanWaterNow #ClimateAction #WaterSecurity #H2OHope #GlobalImpact #GreenInfrastructure #WaterConservation #CommunityResilience #SolvingDrought #EnvironmentalJustice #InnovationForChange #WaterEquity #ClimateResilience #WaterSolutions #RegionalDevelopment #NatureBasedSolutions #Westernwaterproject

What if here in the US, we can increase the Southwest states’ resilience against droughts, climate change, and other water-related challenges? What if the Northeast can generate a significant revenue stream in the process? What if there is minimal environmental impact, and water wins for everyone? All of this can be done. We envision a future where water becomes available to the Southwest USA -- where it is in high demand, but low supply -- by delivering surplus water from the Northwestern USA. We want to help the Southwestern regions with replenished water access while having a minimal impact on the surplus which comes from the Columbia River discharge. We can do this while maintaining the environmental balance for both the Northwest and the Southwest. Our strategic water augmentation plan has many benefits to all involved: ●       Sustainability: Harnessing the underutilized Columbia River water resources reduces waste, ensures a reliable and sustainable source of freshwater, and addresses the water scarcity issues in the western states. ●       Economic Growth: A secure water supply supports agricultural and industrial development, stimulates economic growth, and enhances the overall quality of life for residents in the region. ●       Environmental Preservation: The underwater pipeline minimizes environmental disruption by reducing the need for most overland transportation and preserving the natural habitats surrounding the Columbia River. ●       Resilience: This project increases the region's resilience against droughts, climate change, and other water-related challenges, mitigating the impacts of water scarcity. ●       Interstate Collaboration: Collaboration among the 11 western states promotes interstate cooperation and resource sharing, fostering unity in addressing shared challenges.
