The Navy's 45-day #shipbuilding delivery review, ordered by Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro in January 2024, reportedly states the future USS District of Columbia (SSBN-826) is projected to be 12-16 months late. This would push delivery of SSBN-826 until October 2028 or early 2029. The #USNavy Fiscal Year 2025 budget still lists SSBN-826 as delivering in October 2027. The largest hurdle for the #submarines is reportedly the bow module, with additional delays from the steam turbines that Northrop Grumman is under contract to build for the Navy. Newport News delivered the stern of the lead boat in January. | https://bit.ly/44jav7k #rubbermolding #rubberindustry #rubberproducts #rubberparts #milling #cncprogramming #5axis #5axismilling #mechanicalengineering #precisionmachining #defensecontractors #USNavyContracts #USNavyProcurement #USNavyRFQ #USNAVYRFI #madeinusa
