My 👧🏼 Bella, my 7-year-old, 1st born, tells me I’m the smartest person she knows. I always tell her I disagree and that she’s the smartest person I know. I give her many reasons why—until she gets bored hearing them all 🤭 For example, she understands what an algorithm is in 2nd grade and references it correctly in other parts of life. Bella builds video games, makes her own rhyming raps, created her own magazine a few days ago, makes cards for the bus driver, teachers, and friends, is amazingly “punny,” learns new languages, writes her own math problems to solve for fun… …all while having access to a PS5, Nintendo Switch, iPad, Roblox, MacBook Air, VR, driving & flight simulators, a backyard moped, 150lbs+ of LEGO, dolls galore, Rokenbok, SnapCircuits, ~20 instruments with recording, TV with anything she wants, and so much more. 🚀 Bella chooses to learn about math and science in all ways, at her ideal pace. Even today, as we walked to the bus, Bella reminded me, “If it’s times 2, it’s doubling the number.” 🥹 Bella even makes up homework and tests for herself, her 4-year-old brother, and sister because she wants to teach them. She asked me to teach her new math, so I dusted off my 🧠 and dove into fractions, algebra, percentages, decimal place tips, exponents…because I see the ❤️🔥 within her…My Bella Boo. (📸 in comment below) She reads books to me, and when she struggles with a word, I lean in and offer the correction (usually with a goofy tone to spark a smirk in a moment she’s feeling unsure). Each time, I make sure I’m not transferring any negative energy with the correction—only honest, loving feedback. When Bella or I make mistakes, we discuss them and figure out how we got there. Most of Bella’s mistakes, I believe, are just part of finding the best way to express her vibrant energy. Thankfully, she’s growing up with ChatGPT, so we often lean on our AI friend when we’re trying to debug and get a clear outside perspective. Using AI to learn is beyond magic 🪄—especially when it comes to turning a novel of thoughts into a coherent post. I’ve learned so much about em dashes—since ChatGPT 🤓 The reason I truly believe Bella is the smartest person I know is because she has endless support to grow at her own pace—especially from her parents, who she knows love her beyond words & actions. In this household, she is not only seen but heard with priority as the amazingly smart daughter and best friend I have. On the other side of the spectrum: Bella’s grandparents never admit when they’re wrong, which is one reason I center her genius around people like myself who, after many years of “machine unlearning,” happily admit when we’re wrong and want to debug why so we can all learn from it. IMHO: Once a human accepts loss/failure/wrong/0/FALSE and wants to dissect it with interested humans / AI…it unlocks so much more love (and science!) Sticking to being right vs. wrong shows persistence….but not grace ❤️🔥 #itFeelsRightToBeWrong

I've learned the hard way, you can have a real edge with intellectual humility. Intellectual humility — the willingness to admit, learn from, and adjust based on mistakes — is a trait few embrace. And it’s often the missing piece in breaking through our own biases. 1 / Most people double down when challenged. They defend their assumptions, lock in their beliefs, and ignore feedback. 2 / Intellectual humility isn’t weak; it’s growth. It allows you to learn faster, adapt quicker, and make better decisions — while everyone else clings to outdated assumptions. 3 / The truth is, no one has it all figured out. The real differentiator is how quickly you’re willing to adapt once you realize you don’t. Thoughts???

Nothing is unfair about where one “chooses” to obsess. Every moment is about learning. I agree raise capital / extend timeframe of sorts (bootstrapping is blessing/curse) to figure out non-tech sides is🎢 too. Based on Matt Watson’s example & my reality (Wes CTO !== CEO, COO, CMO, CDO, CPO) but really it’s find geniune partners or buckle up and learn ASAP ❤️🔥🚀 I’ve solo engineered many dusty products and I’m okay with that. It’s me {L}earning my spot at the table I share with someone who {L}earned their spot ideally. One example of many: 2yrs iPad Point of Sale + iPhone App + Bar/Restaurant Web Admin. All engineering done by just me. Launched in 1 Philadelphia bar, 3 other founders (CEO, CMO, CDO) then said personal life is more important now (this was fully bootstrapped / 0 funding) to them then seeing a live product with user/bar 1 grow…. Absolutely heartbreaking but many lessons learned and still shared as wise caution to others. I’ll never forget pacing around in my basement alone on the call where the 3 other founders shocked me with the news. I said I was going to continue solo (why give up at first release???) and it changed from “we are killing this startup now on this call” to “keep us in the loop if “we” succeed by you”. 🤦🏻♂️ ❤️🔥Find the right people to innovate with. If you spend more time talking about equity split and how to steal the code from your technical founder behind the scenes (yes they tried and I confronted them 🤦🏻♂️) VS product & users…RUN

Solo non technical founders often have a serious advantage over technical ones. They almost always have deep industry experience and have deep confidence in how to sell the product if they can "just get the damn thing built." This gives them an unfair advantage. For example, I met with a lady last week who is an industry expert in the dental industry. She flies around the country as the keynote speaker at conferences telling people how to run their business. She just needs a product to sell. She can sell it. On the other hand, most tech founders know how to build the product but have no idea how to sell it. They think they will figure it out. "If we build it they will come" never happens. If you are only good at one or the other, it leaves you needing to raise capital to figure out the other side. Even then, it's super difficult if you don't have distribution figured out!!! The best startups having founding teams that have both sides handled from the beginning.

On a plane (again) today, thinking about over-engineering in hardware — how it can sink a project before it gets off the ground. Over-engineering isn’t just about complexity. It’s about increasing: 1 / The number of potential failure points 2 / Adding weight 3 / Multiplying testing requirements In aerospace, even a small added component means added weight --> which impacts fuel efficiency, payload capacity, and launch cost. More parts also mean --> more suppliers, longer lead times, and greater vulnerability to shortages. For complex hardware, simplicity is efficiency — not just in the design, but: 1 / Across manufacturing 2 / Sourcing 3 / Maintenance Real engineering skill isn’t about packing in as much functionality as possible; it’s about understanding the minimum effective dose. The best hardware isn’t the most complex — it’s the most purposeful. Thoughts?

Big tech companies does not mean best engineers by default. The bigger the company, the less 0’s and 1’s one “best” engineer can actually fiddle with e2e. Rapid innovation is about small teams that genuinely care e2e IMHO. Even the idea of Eng levels at these companies is laughable. Why not just call the Eng levels by 🥩 temperatures. The companies using these levels are also the ones slaying off by the masses treating humans like rotten meat after their dedication and allegiance. You’ll know who you’re working with pretty quickly and if the levels / titles will be the most important obsession within the team dynamic, you’re in for a treat. If you’re part of a big tech company cog, you already have bounds and hurdles galore wether you see them or not. Outsourcing is really an issue when all sides involved don’t respect the product, the users, and most importantly each other. Communication for any source is key. I prefer ❤️🔥 Open Heart Source to all who want to build something meaningful for the humans we have left and the growing AI / 🤖 population. I hope to work with any of you on building a better world for all ❤️🔥🚀 PS: I don’t crave millions / billions anymore. Having that much money to me now means I’m not genuinely caring about others. I crave humans and AI that find bliss in solving genuine problems for others. Monday’s for those 🧠 isn’t a negative, it’s a positive start to the next mission.

Yesterday one dev guy from US accused me in harassment and blocked. First time on LinkedIn. Why? We discussed outsourcing. He told that he don’t wanna any hire outside US because best engineers live in US. Fair argument. Most of big tech companies based in US. But problem not in this… I asked, “How you can measure quality of dev?” Reply: “Via interview” Well, fair again. “But senior for you could be junior for me and vice versa 🥲 . Do you have something in strict numbers?“ He blocked me after this words. But question still persists. This lead us to one of the biggest humanity challenge. How you can measure a skill? Unfortunately, it’s impossible today. We hide under tech interviews, code examples, certificates and even AI tools for resume scan. And yeah, who will innovate such approach for measure and compare skill, will definitely become a billionaire 🤑
