What a day to celebrate a TOTAL ECLIPSE! I think we were all surprised by the beautiful sunny skies - the perfect scene for this rare event. ☀ 😎 Our team here at WHAS11 has spent months planning for this day - everyone played a part in bringing our viewers a glimpse at history. And of course, we wanted to make sure those stationed back at the studio had some special snacks to celebrate the big day. Also - a big thank you to French Lick West Baden for being such great hosts.

What an incredible morning! We premiered our Honor Flight documentary to a group of veterans featured in the film. These veterans allowed us to share their stories and allowed us to stand with them during some very vulnerable moments during their trip to DC. A huge thank you to photojournalist Jessica Farley who shot, edited and co-produced the documentary and who also had the idea for WHAS11 to host this special event. Thank you as well to Brooke Hasch who co-produced and narrated the documentary. If you are in Kentuckiana, we invite you to watch the documentary on Friday, November 10th at 3pm on WHAS11. Starting November 13th, it will be available on WHAS11+. Photo credit: Alyssa Kaitlyn Newton We also want to thank St Xavier High School in Louisville, Kroger and Starbucks for helping us host such a great event.

A BIG congrats to Eric King! Eric was the keynote speaker for the Nelson County chapter of the NAACP and was surprised with the city's Hometown Hero award! We are so proud of the work Eric does on TV and in our community. You can see Eric weekday mornings from 4:30-7 on Good Morning Kentuckiana!
