Healthcare financing: coming of age? Hard facts about the Indian health insurance industry: 1️⃣ Health insurance premium in India for the last 12 months is at INR 1L Cr+, 20%+ up from last fiscal 2️⃣ Top 5 standalone health insurers accounted for 1/3rd of the total premium 3️⃣ Government schemes are showing promise: we are inching towards 600M+ ABHA IDs. Of the promised cover of INR 5L per family for 12Cr families, INR 1L Cr reimbursed till Dec’23 We have been deliberating on the right models for health insurance in India and the role technology can play.
