Excellent tutorial as always from Matt Forrest! Also, how bout them stats! Bring the fire department! 🔥 🚒
🔥 Joining 780M building polygons from Overture Maps Foundation with 1TB of rasters on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 90 seconds with Wherobots - full tutorial live on YouTube (link in comments) I posted a bit about this one in a short a few weeks ago and got to record the full demo this past week in the Wherobots' San Francisco offices. The demo walks through some important concepts such as using out-of-database raster data, partitioning your data, spatial query optimizations, and much more. #gis #moderngis #geospatial #spatialanalytics #spatialsql #wherobots #apachesedona #aws #remotesensing

🏢 All 131 million US Building Footprints from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in PM Tiles in leafmap all created via Wherobots! I saw the post from Mark Litwintschik last week about this new dataset and decided to pull it into Wherobots. I created three datasets, partitioned GeoParquet, PM Tiles from Protomaps, and finally a Havasu table (geospatial Apache Iceberg). All coming soon to Source Cooperative! #gis #moderngis #geospatial #spatialanalytics #spatialsql #apachesedona #spatialdatascience
