🤹♀️ Understanding and planning for AI can be complex and overwhelming. Trying to keep up with AI's advancements feels 'chaotic'. Here's my TL;DR (too long; didn't read) update of development trends emerging with the improved LLM capabilities announced last week: 🤔 Improved reasoning: Recent LLMs like GPT-4o, Gemini 1.5 Pro, Claude 3 Opus, and Llama 3-70B have enhanced their reasoning abilities, allowing them to better understand and follow complex instructions to complete tasks. This makes them more reliable for sophisticated business needs. 📚 Longer input context windows: These models can now accept much longer inputs (tokens), enabling developers to provide more detailed instructions ('mega-prompts') and more examples (many-shot learning), which improves the model's accuracy and adaptability to specific tasks. This reduces the need for extensive fine-tuning and accelerates development cycles. 🎨 Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs): The emerging frontier of AI is MLLMs that can process and generate multiple data types(e.g., images, audio, video, and text), resulting in models capturing a more complete understanding of complex, real-time information. This will help businesses create AI that interacts with customers more naturally, requiring less experience with the technology to use it effectively across many tasks. 🤖 Agents / Agentic UX: AI agents are defined as artificial entities that can observe the environment, make decisions and take actions using available tools.
