The Wichita Art Museum is located west of downtown Wichita in the heart of the Museums on the River district. WAM offers: • Free general admission to the museum's permanent collection galleries • A commitment to positively impact the lives of Wichitans and the city’s cultural landscape through compelling experiences with the visual arts • One of the prized collections of American art in the country, now more than 10,000 artworks strong • Changing exhibitions that bring art-world trends to Wichita and present strong local artists • Weekly highly-valued family and children’s educational programs • Free bus reimbursement for school field trips • Lifelong-learning programs and special events including free lectures, concerts, films, Senior Wednesday, Art Chatter, and Exhibition Closing Parties • Open 10 am to 5 pm Wednesday through Sunday; open late Friday nights until 9 pm; closed Monday, Tuesday and major holidays
