Our facial authentication technology is revolutionizing the fan experience in Major League Soccer venues.  By eliminating the need for physical tickets or IDs, Wicket allows fans to quickly and seamlessly enter stadiums and make purchases. This technology has been successfully implemented by several MLS teams, including the Columbus Crew, Atlanta United FC, and Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), and is being expanded to stadiums nationwide. As Christopher Schlosser, MLS SVP of Emerging Ventures, stated, "Fans want the best possible game on the field, and they also want the best experience." On the latest Stadium Tech Report podcast, Paul Kapustka talked to Karl Pierburg, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, about how technology fuels the fan experience. To enhance the guest experience, Pierburg integrated Wicket's facial authentication ticketing system with Evolv Technology security screening into a seamless ingress process. “To provide a great experience to our guests, that technology had to work, and it had to work correctly,” Pierburg said. The team continually tested and worked closely with Wicket over a couple of years to determine the best ways to implement facial ticketing, how to combine the technology with security, and how the gates for both should be placed for optimum flow. Despite not forcing its use, the system saw 8.5% of fans come through Wicket for the first game of the season, with 40% of season ticket holders enrolled. It’s all part of ensuring a better fan experience, Pierburg said.
