Thank you to National Geographic for hosting the screening of Cult Massacre: One Day in Jonestown! The series is the third installment of Nat Geo's Emmy Award-winning "One day in America" franchise and chronicles the harrowing moments leading up to the tragic events in Jonestown in 1978 using first-person accounts and newly digitized and never-before-seen footage! Our board members had a great time at the event and enjoyed hearing from former member of Congress Jackie Speier and retired Washington Post journalist Charles Krause!

Meet our Marketing and Communications Co-Chair, Sara Rahmjoo! Sara has been a WICT DC/Baltimore Board Member for about two years. Sara works at the Federal Communications Commission as a Policy Advisor to Commissioner Nathan Simington. Her favorite part of being involved with WICT has been getting to know all the wonderful people on the board and meeting so many impressive and admirable people through events and partnerships! She especially loves the joint events with DC United! A fun fact about Sara is that she learned to paint when she was 4 years old and has been an avid artist since. Sara has mostly focused on oil and acrylic mediums but is hoping to experiment with mixed media art after graduating from law school. Her life mantra is that there's no growth in comfort zones and no comfort in growth zones. The best piece of advice Sara has ever received is to always approach situations with an open mind and a willingness to listen. This advice has helped her navigate various challenges and opportunities and allowed her to learn and grow continuously. #MeetTheBoardMondays
