"May I suggest occasionally substituting a delicious, meaty pollock sandwich for that steak? Not only will it be better for your health, but also the planet … and our noses. Eat more fish! Because fish don’t fart!" American Seafoods' Rasmus Soerensen via Food Processing #wildalaskapollock https://lnkd.in/gdXNjQ4r

At this year's Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers Annual Meeting, there was a fundraiser for SeaShare sponsored by Alaska Airlines and Holland America Line. Thanks to the unprecedented outpouring of support we received, a total of $12,000 in cash donations were raised for SeaShare's work. With every dollar of support to SeaShare helping to bring six servings of healthy seafood to those most in need, that means this fundraiser helped provide fully 27,000 seafood servings through foodbanks! #GAPPAM2024

"Total familiarity with Wild Alaska Pollock increased by an astounding 6 percentage points since tracking consumer familiarity began in 2019, said data experts from Ketchum Analytics at the Wild Alaska Pollock Annual Meeting this morning in Seattle. During the sixth industry annual meeting, hosted by the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP), data experts Melissa Kinch and Lauren Hasse of Ketchum noted that, in looking at other white fish as a benchmark for performance, Wild Alaska Pollock last year, for the first time, outpaced Haddock on familiarity, positive opinion and intent to eat, and this year, Wild Alaska Pollock is—for the first time—closing the gap with both Tilapia and Cod on those same indicators." https://lnkd.in/grn6j8h4

“There’s a reason to be especially optimistic about the future of this industry as we look ahead. This year’s application process was the most competitive yet—with 34 unique applications and a total requested funding of nearly 4.4 million dollars,” said Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers CEO Craig Morris during his opening remarks this morning. “In the spirit of our ‘Going Global’ Annual Meeting theme, even more exciting is that nearly 40 percent of those applications were from outside of the United States.” https://lnkd.in/gEAytAhn

"Deliberate storytelling around the real-ness of Surimi Seafood, and embracing the name, which is associated with higher perception, is critical to moving the needle and driving demand around the world, say data experts and industry speakers at the sixth Annual Meeting hosted by the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) today. According to the year-over-year GAPP survey results, presented today, amongst attributes that drive intent to purchase, “knowing surimi seafood is made from real fish, Wild Alaska Pollock,” rose by 5 percentage points in importance amongst respondents." https://lnkd.in/gBYwhbUx
