This week on #WildPoshInterviews, we chat with Simone Tosi! Simone, Associate Professor at the University of Turin, leads Work Package 5 in the WildPosh project, where he’s focused on developing a toolbox for assessing pesticide risks to #pollinators. By integrating in vitro, in vivo, and in silico data, this tool will help predict and mitigate the impacts of pesticides on #pollinators across diverse European landscapes. Our project coordinator Prof. Denis Michez will contribute to another pollinator project - AGRI4POL Project! Threats to #pollinators and pollination services that support #agriculture and provide benefits to people are a worldwide problem. AGRI4POL’s ambition is to assist the transition of agriculture from being a pressure on pollinators to becoming a positive force for managing and restoring pollinator biodiversity, crop pollination services and co-benefits to ecosystems and people. 🐝 AGRI4POL is set to start in January 2025. Follow the project on LinkedIn and X so you don't miss any updates! Curious to learn more about UMONS' contribution and the project? Check out the post and link below! 👇
Pollinator projects 🤝 establishing meaningful collaborations across countries
PollinERA was quite busy this summer attending international events across Europe and Asia. 🐝 🔸 27th International Congress of Entomology (#ICE2024) 🔸 53rd Annual Conference of the German Ecological Society (#GfÖ24) 🔸 9th Student Conference on Conservation Science (#SCCSEurope2024) On behalf of the project’s communication and dissemination partner, Pensoft Publishers, PollinERA distributed various project materials, including the PollinERA two-pager, stickers, flyers with study species illustrations, bookmarks, and study species stickers. 📝 As a step towards building a more powerful collaborative network, PollinERA participated in the events together with the ongoing sister projects Safeguard, WildPosh Project and ANTENNA Project, as well as the PoshBee and B-GOOD projects, which ended last year. Moreover, during the events, two upcoming EU-funded pollinator projects were presented: VALOR Project and AGRI4POL Project. 🤝 🔎 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gBBMF88Q
