Williamsburg House of Mercy was featured on the latest episode of Unfurl the Sails with Saint Bede Catholic Church’s Bob Mahr A great discussion on the history of our mission dating back to 1979!
Continuing to shape what the Williamsburg House of Mercy of today is and expanding the philanthropic support for the Williamsburg House of Mercy of tomorrow.
Thank you to Bob Mahr for inviting me to talk on his Unfurl the Sails podcast! We talked about the long history of Williamsburg House of Mercy and the volunteer support needed to keep our four mission areas moving along so we can continue to answer the knocks at our door. Give it a listen! https://lnkd.in/eekAtSdX

Thank you Hans VonKruger and the team of Bank of America who selected Williamsburg House of Mercy House as a recipient of its #BofAGrants. Thank you for helping us making our new initiative possible: Pop Up Food Pantry! Each month, WHOM will partner with another local food pantry to support the food insecure in Upper James City, New Kent, and Charles City County's. Did you know WHOM helps 110 families in these areas? This initiative is about food accessibility for our neighbors in need and we are so grateful to partner with Grove Christian Outreach Center for our first Pop Up Food Pantry this Friday July 19! A special thanks to Williamsburg Community Chapel for being our host site! #bettertogether #BofAGrants #foodinsecure #foodpantry #williamsburg

Grateful for Williamsburg Rotary Club for their grant to support the Harbor Day Shelter.
Continuing to shape what the Williamsburg House of Mercy of today is and expanding the philanthropic support for the Williamsburg House of Mercy of tomorrow.
Last night, Williamsburg House of Mercy was among 17 grant recipients awarded a grant from the Williamsburg Rotary Foundation. It’s an honor to be recognized locally and have the support of community members who want to see a change at a local level. Our grant award will fund several months of the Harbor Day Shelter located at WHOM. It’s Williamsburg’s only day shelter offering respite to those experiencing homelessness. Through Harbor, guests receive breakfast, lunch, showers, internet access, to go bags filled with protein enriched snacks, and immediate access to case managers. In three months alone, four Harbor guests were moved into permanent supportive housing. Thank you to the Williamsburg Rotary for supporting our efforts to help those in great need. #FeelGoodFriday

Thank you Union Mission Ministries for hosting us this week!
Continuing to shape what the Williamsburg House of Mercy of today is and expanding the philanthropic support for the Williamsburg House of Mercy of tomorrow.
An inspiring tour at Union Mission Ministries with William Crawley and Miya Kennedy, MHA this past week. The depth of their work leads to an impactful approach to walking with those in need. So much inspiration for Williamsburg House of Mercy as we begin our work on strategic growth.

Williamsburg House of Mercy hosted Virginia Peninsula Food Bank's CEO Renee Figurelle on February 14 through a tour of the warehouse operation and USDA distribution done each Wednesday. We are proud of our partnership with the Food Bank and their work in securing us with the necessary resources for our operation and distribution. Did you know that through the help of the Food Bank, we received a new stove for our Community Kitchen in the summer of 2023? More recently, they facilitated our brand new refrigerated food truck! Each week, we are able to shop at their warehouse to get supplemental food that gets distributed to our 300+ clients each week. Exciting things to come with their help! #partnerships #bettertogether

So appreciative of the partnership and support from Williamsburg Health Foundation. We had such a great visit last week and look forward to continued conversations about how, together, we can make a lasting impact to the clients we are serving.
Yesterday, five staff from the Williamsburg Health Foundation had the opportunity to visit with our partners at Williamsburg House of Mercy (WHOM). The organization, led by Executive Director Liz Buckley, provides a safe environment for community members facing food insecurity, struggling with household expenses, and/or experiencing homelessness to receive supportive services. In the first three weeks of this new year, WHOM served nearly 1,084 individuals or families through their food pantry and provided 2,000 hot noontime meals. Great conversations with our community partner, Sentara Health, Amber Price DNP CNM RN
Continuing to shape what the Williamsburg House of Mercy of today is and expanding the philanthropic support for the Williamsburg House of Mercy of tomorrow.
At a December 1 Williamsburg House of Mercy event, Amber Price DNP CNM RN acquainted Dr. Cornelius Powell, newly appointed Chief Medical Officer, to the work being done to help the most vulnerable in the Greater Williamsburg Community. We look forward to continued conversations where, together, we can make a larger impact in helping those going from just surviving to thriving.
