"I think there’s so much power in motherhood — this essential power of giving life and nurturing families. I like to imagine how we can shape the world if we recognize and lean into that collective power." We love this soundbite from our CEO Sarah O'Leary who sat down with the Maternal Care Institute to talk about the future of maternal care, how she balances "work life" and "mom life," what she'd do with a magic wand, and more. Read the whole interview below and tell us what message of empowerment you'd share with moms in the comments!

💡 This week, our BrightMinds series features Sarah O'Leary from Willow Innovations, Inc., the femtech company that revolutionized the breast pumping experience and invented the first all-in-one wearable breast pump, and mom of two.💡 She shares her hopes for the maternal care industry in the future. Sarah shares, "Women are starting to take more control of their own health and fill in the gap where the healthcare system isn't working with tools like tracking apps, digital communities, and content creators. We have a long way to go but when we demand better for our health and well-being, we help create systematic change." We have always been driven by the belief that moms deserve better — not just when it comes to breastfeeding, but at every point along their postpartum and parenting journeys. This is why we're so proud to share a recap of our CEO Sarah O'Leary's recent trip to the Capitol with our partners at Chamber of Mothers. The focus was on policy, not politics — paid family leave, affordable childcare, reversing the maternal mortality rate, and finding ways to help American families flourish. Our “why” is simple: we’re fighting for the women who aren’t able to advocate for themselves, whether that’s because they’re deep in the early days of motherhood, or lacking the support structures necessary to speak out and speak up.   These conversations are so important, and we're honored to have them alongside the Chamber of Mothers team. For more on our trip, including ways to learn about the issues we discussed in D.C., check out our blog.

After the alarming but not surprising advisory from the US Surgeon General last week, our CEO Sarah O'Leary spoke with Motherly® about activism to improve the mental health and well-being of moms. To quote Sarah, "There is power in the broader community of moms, and when we come together to demand better we help drive systemic change.” At Willow, our attention has always focused on mom - how we support her physical health, mental health, and feeding journey. It's the entire reason why we invented the first in-bra wearable breast pump. And, it's why we're partnering with Chamber of Mothers to challenge the status quo. Together, we’re advocating for a better maternal experience in America and encouraging all moms to use their voice and their values to Vote Like A Mother. Because moms deserve more than the status quo. Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gA9V5FMK

Willow was built on the belief that moms deserve better — not just when it comes to feeding, but at so many points along their postpartum and parenting journeys. We're incredibly proud to announce our partnership with Chamber of Mothers to further a shared mission: improving the maternal experience in America. A nonpartisan 501(c)(3), Chamber of Mothers is committed to uniting America's 85 million moms to harness their power for progress. Focusing on paid family leave, affordable childcare, and maternal health support, they are creating a national motherhood coalition to enact change on the local, state, and federal levels. Why? 25% of mothers are back at work just two weeks after giving birth. The average cost of childcare for two kids exceeds the average cost of housing in all 50 states. The U.S. has the highest maternal mortality rate of any developed nation, and 84% of those deaths are preventable. If you're as fed up and fired up as we are, you can get involved and vote like a mother this fall. These issues are on the ballot! Text MOTHER to 26797 to check your registration status and access detailed ballot and polling information. *Produced and Created by: Affinitiv Advertising Voiceover: annie bacon, recording artist and Programs and Community Manager of Chamber of Mothers.

At Willow, we know that pumping allows many moms to reach their feeding goals and give their babies breast milk for longer. Yet just 45% of women feel proud of their pumping journey* — a stat that shows just how critical it is to change the conversation about how we feed. So this month, in celebration of National Breastfeeding Awareness, we're getting loud about the fact that pumping is breastfeeding. We'll say it again: pumping is breastfeeding. (The data drives it home: studies show that any amount of breast milk that a baby receives is beneficial, whether it’s from a bottle or the breast.) Our hope is that pumping moms will start celebrate themselves — and be celebrated by others — for all that they do to nourish their babies. Get full story on our blog and make sure to follow us @willowpump for more on this all month long. *State of Feeding 2024

Nearly a decade ago, we took what was once a clunky eyesore (that forced you to pump crouched down next to the nearest wall socket) and developed the world's first in-bra wearable pump to give mom the freedom she deserves. But we didn’t stop there. We built effective, innovative wearable pumps and designed a high-quality product suite built with the women who use them and their real and often busy lives in mind. Our CEO Sarah O'Leary spoke with Glamour about how our thoughtful, mom-centered products completely redefined not only how women pump, but also how they feel about pumping. Read the full article.

We fight hard for paid family leave. Why? Because every mom (and dad) deserves it. Willow CEO, Sarah O'Leary, talks about why it's critical for parents to have access to paid family leave and the consequences they may face when they don't have the right support from their workplace in a recent article from The Everymom. Thank you Rachel Morgan Cautero for sharing this important message. Read more about what Sarah had to say ⬇

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: moms deserve better. And we’re not just talking about one type of mom… ALL MOMS DESERVE BETTER. 👏 That’s why our product team is currently at the NWA National Conference to join the WIC community in-person to not only celebrate their 50th anniversary, but to learn more about how we can make our pumps more accessible to all moms. We're excited for this first step and can't wait to share more with you! Thanks Andrea Ippolito from SimpliFed for stopping by our booth!
