Today is going beyond land acknowledgements and a post. Today we recognize Turtle Island and honor those who continue to listen to it and protect it! We mourn the deaths of Indigenous children murdered and buried in boarding schools and of our Indigenous sisters who are missing! We unlearn what we were taught to (re)learn hidden histories and knowledge! We embody decolonization by first understanding its meaning. Decolonization is about “cultural, psychological, and economic freedom” for Indigenous people with the goal of achieving Indigenous sovereignty -- the right and ability of Indigenous people to practice self-determination over their land, cultures, and political and economic systems! Recovery and Resilience! #Recovery #Resilience #Reentry #Indigenous #IndigenousPeoplesDay #TurtleIsland

WIN Recovery is proud to present Walk For WIN!!! Our transformative 5K walk event kicks off Saturday, October 19th from 9am to 2pm, RSVP for location! Let’s take a step to WIN and give back what was freely given to us. Donate gently used or new shoes to help survivors, those we serve, take a stand and step towards a better future! Our mission is rooted in recognizing the stark disparity of resources available to women, mothers, and families impacted by mental health challenges such as Substance Use Disorder, Violence, and entanglement within the Criminal Justice System. Our vision extends to touching the lives of more mothers, women, and LGBTQIA+ individuals across Illinois, guiding them toward healing, reconciliation, and the supportive community they deserve. Registration is now open! Register now to receive event details! See you there! #Recovery #Resilience #Reentry #Chicago #5K
