This position will play a vital role securing philanthropic support for Winterthur initiatives through regular interaction with current and prospective donors, with a specific focus on the leadership giving level ($2,500 - $24,999). In addition, this position will manage strategy to build a pipeline of annual donors and increase retention rates for Winterthur’s Founder’s Circle leadership giving society and for the Winterthur Business Associates corporate support program. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter who is capable of building sustainable, long-term philanthropic relationships while meeting annual fundraising goals and independently prioritizing responsibilities. We are ringing in the new year with another fantastic internship opportunity for summer 2025! The Family Programs Intern supports Terrific Tuesday, Winterthur’s summer program for families with children aged 3 to 10. The intern works with Winterthur staff to design hands-on activities that engage visitors with Winterthur’s resources through imaginative and creative play. Terrific Tuesdays complement Winterthur's rotating exhibitions. The intern will work closely with museum staff and external partners to ensure each week’s activities highlight the stories of featured objects and artists while introducing visitors to both traditional and contemporary materials and means of making. In 2025 programming will connect with the upcoming exhibition Almost Unknown, the African-American Picture Gallery, inspired by William J. Wilson’s 1859 essay and guest curated by Dr. Jonathan Michael Square. It is never too early to start thinking about summer 2025, better known to some as Internship Season! The Winterthur Garden Internship Program began in 1991 and is a continuation of Mr. du Pont’s educational background and lifetime of experience in horticulture, landscape design, and estate management. The mission of the program is to help educate the next generation of horticulturists and environmental stewards while preserving and maintaining Mr. du Pont’s spectacular treasure that is the Winterthur Garden and Estate. This year, internships are available in the following areas: · Horticulture · Natural Lands Stewardship All interns work a 35-hour week from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. They also have the option to work an additional five hours per week. Interns receive a wage of $15.00/hour and qualify for free housing on the property. Interns work closely with experienced staff, practice horticulturally and environmentally sound techniques, and learn to appreciate the history and design of Mr. du Pont’s beloved garden and estate. Interns also participate in a number of educational activities including weekly trainings and tours, plant identification classes, and field trips to public and private horticulture destinations in the greater Philadelphia region. With nearly 1,000 acres of rolling meadows and woodlands, including a 60 acre naturalistic garden, our horticulture teams works on a variety of landscapes. Our Arboriculture and Natural Lands team is looking for a Natural Lands Technician to join them! This role will assist with the maintenance and management of Winterthur’s extensive natural landscape, including its meadows, woodlands, streams, ponds, wetlands and wildlife.
