It’s Downtown Employee Appreciation Week here in Milwaukee! Our food and beverage partners at Levy Restaurants provided complimentary coffee this morning to downtown employees outside our Baird Community Commons. We gave away Change Please Coffee, coffee that fuels change. Change Please is where social enterprise and coffee expertise blend. Change Please empowers people experiencing homelessness by training them as baristas, giving them the support, job prospects and self-belief they need to thrive. The "Super Bowl of meetings" is coming to #Milwaukee! Last weekend at ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, it was officially announced that the American Society of Association Executives will host its annual meeting at Baird Center in 2034. The event brings an average economic impact of $15 million to $18 million to its host cities and will put Milwaukee in front of thousands of decision-making meeting planners. The Visit Milwaukee team and our partners Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Wisconsin Center District, Hyatt Regency Milwaukee and Meeting and Incentives Worldwide. are in Cleveland, Ohio this week at the ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership (ASAE). Over the weekend, ASAE CEO Mason Michelle announced that Milwaukee will host the conference and trade show in 2034 for the first time! Our team reports that Milwaukee was the talk of the tradeshow floor. We handed out 400 brats in about 2.5 hours and a bunch of AntetokounBros merch. Milwaukee’s booth was the place to be! With 1.3 million square feet spread across two connected buildings, Baird Center now boasts the flexibility to host a multitude of different events simultaneously and attract more sporting events to #Milwaukee.
