The Department of Defense's Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation released its Fiscal Year 2023 Defense Spending by State report to help states and communities better understand how Defense procurement, personnel, and grant spending impact their economies. The report's graphs, maps, and tables present a range of findings, such as total spending figures, categories of contracted goods and services, major defense vendors, numbers and types of defense personnel, and grants awarded by the Department of Defense (DOD). This snapshot provides public and private leaders with a starting place to assess how defense investments across installations, communities, and the private sector can be optimized by supporting regional innovation, industrial capability and capacity, supply chain resilience, and cultivating a skilled workforce. https://lnkd.in/gXQr3G2e #defense #defensecontracting #govcon #wisconsin

Expanding Business Opportunities in Rural Wisconsin – Juneau County November 13, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm https://lnkd.in/gpwMEjSD The government can be a great customer for your business – especially if you are a small business. The challenge is to know WHAT they buy, HOW they buy it, and WHEN they buy it – AND THEN – how your business can take those first steps to SUCCESSFULLY SELL to the GOVERNMENT. Wisconsin is home to many opportunities from Ft. McCoy, US Army Corps of Engineers, National Park Service, US Forest Service and VA Hospitals and Clinics. It is also home to a number of large prime contractors including Oshkosh Defense, Wisconsin Physician Services and Michels. During this session you will learn how to: --Determine if your small business qualifies for small business certifications. --Leverage your small business certifications targeting HUBZone, veteran, woman and disadvantaged businesses --Identify if the government is buying what you are selling Identify and take the first steps in entering the market as a prime or subcontractor --Leverage regional resources that can assist your business Be prepared to introduce your business at the start of the event and network once the formal program has concluded. Bring your business cards and capabilities statements. #HUBZONE #SMALLBUSINESS #VOLKFIELD #SBA #7RIVERS #GOVERNMENT

Small Business Contracting: Increasing Small Business Participation on Multiple Award Contracts Posted by the Small Business Administration on Oct 24, 2024 https://lnkd.in/guPk8ndF This proposed rule would apply the Rule of Two to multiple-award contract task and delivery orders, with some exceptions. Under the Rule of Two, unless an exception applies, an agency must set aside the award for small businesses where there is a reasonable expectation of receiving offers from two or more small-business contract holders under the multiple-award contract that are competitive in terms of price, quality, and delivery. Documentation requirements apply where the agency decides not to move forward with a set-aside order. Comment Due Date Dec 24, 2024 #govcon #smallbusiness #federalcontract
