Our Fall "WissaGIVING" campaign was a huge success, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped us nearly DOUBLE our $15,000 goal. A big shout-out to One Little Earth (www.onelittleearth.org) and Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival , who not only supported our campaign, but also gave a nice shout-out to our school in their most recent newsletter!
About us
Wissahickon Charter School serves 960 students at our two schools in Philadelphia. Our first campus, Fernhill, opened in 2002 and serves 485 K-8 students from across Philadelphia. Our second K-8 campus, Awbury, opened in the fall of 2014. The mission of Wissahickon Charter School (WCS) is to provide a community of learning that stimulates and builds the child's intellectual, social, and character development. Wissahickon Charter Schools are planned around three essential elements: an environmental focus that allows students to experience the curriculum, recognition of service learning projects as key in students’ success, and an emphasis on parents as partners in the learning experiences of their children.

WissaGIVING Week -- happening RIGHT NOW -- is a time to honor the giving season, celebrate the spirit of Wissahickon Charter School, and ensure every child has opportunities for holistic learning experiences. Our campaign this year will support the costs of field trips at both of our two K-8 campuses, invaluable opportunities for students to connect their classroom lessons to real-life experiences.
