All lights are green between LVMH and Formula 1. The French luxury group on Wednesday revealed that it has signed on as global luxury partner of the motorsports championship for the next 10 years, starting with the 2025 season that begins next March with the Melbourne Grand Prix. While LVMH did not disclose the financial terms of the decade-long deal, sources with knowledge of the matter said the figure came in at under $100 million a year. The news caps off months of speculation surrounding the end of ROLEX’s role as global partner and official timepiece, which it held since 2013. Stephen and Erica Malbon had a couple of goals when they created Malbon Golf in 2017. Nike offered mixed results in its first earnings call since announcing that its chief executive officer John Donahoe would step down and be replaced by Elliott Hill. In addition to announcing results for the first quarter, the athletic giant said it would postpone its widely anticipated Investor Day, which was scheduled for Nov. 19. A new date has not yet been released. For the first quarter, Nike reported that revenues were down 10 percent to $11.59 billion over the same quarter last year, short of the $11.65 billion expected by analysts surveyed by Yahoo Finance. Net income was down 28 percent to $1.1 billion and diluted earnings per share was 70 cents, which represented a 26 percent decline. This was ahead of the 52 cents expected by analysts. CELINE has named Michael Rider its new artistic director, succeeding Hedi Slimane. He starts in early 2025. WWD reported on April 24 that Celine was girding for a possible Slimane exit and had lined up a potential successor in Rider, creative director at Polo Ralph Lauren. It marks a return to the French house for Rider, who logged a decade as Celine’s design director of ready-to-wear from 2008 to 2018, working under then-creative director Phoebe Philo. ILIA Beauty has named a new chief executive officer, Paul Schiraldi, to succeed Lynda Berkowitz. After nearly eight years as CEO, Berkowitz is “semi-retiring,” she said, but will also transition into an advisory role at Famille C, the Courtin-Clarins family’s investment firm and majority owner of Ilia Beauty. Berkowitz has been key to the clean beauty brand’s growth, helping Ilia Beauty scale from $2 million to $200 million in revenue. “Ilia’s moments of greatest growth were when we went against the norms of the industry and followed the pathway of the brand DNA,” said Berkowitz. A K-pop dazzling fashion moment is to mark the new leg of SWAROVSKI’s traveling exhibition “Masters of Light,” which is set to land in Seoul this month. To be staged at XYZ Seoul, in the city’s vibrant Seongsu district, and run from Oct. 18 to 30, the show will display shimmering stage costumes and red carpet looks worn by the likes of Harry Styles and Rihanna along with costumes from global K-pop sensations Le Sserafim. In particular, visitors will be able to see the custom outfits from the girl band’s “Crazy” music video, which were designed in collaboration with Swarovski to sparkle at every move of the group’s dynamic choreography. Her enthusiasm for the site and the part it has played on cultivating her own contemporary classical revival have led her to an official collaboration. Her limited-time holiday gift curation of art, home furnishings, fashion and jewelry will be sold on 1stDibs starting Wednesday and will remain shoppable until Dec. 15. Highlights of the curation include iconic designs inspired by the creative’s own taste. Perelel is a women’s health company, founded by Victoria Thain Gioia, Alex Taylor and Dr. Banafsheh Bayati in 2018, that offers supplements spanning the needs of a woman’s life, including conception, pregnancy, cycle syncing and perimenopause, which the brand just soft launched a supplement for. Loom, founded by Erica Chidi and Quinn Lundberg in 2017, is a women’s health educational platform, valued at $20 million according to the company, that spans reproductive health, sexual wellness and parenting.
