    Agnes Chapski has filed a lawsuit against COSMETIC EXECUTIVE WOMEN (UK) and four of its top executives. The suit, filed last month, alleges that CEW, a membership-based networking group for professional women in the beauty industry, wrongfully terminated Chapski from her position as its executive vice president, business strategy and growth officer, a position she held since November 2023. Prior to that she was a consultant to CEW. As well as the CEW itself, the organization’s president Carlotta Jacobson, chief operating and financial officer Claudia Flowers, vice chairwoman Heidi Manheimer and chairwoman Jill Scalamandre were named as defendants in the suit.     Gigi Hadid goes way back with Rabanne and its blockbuster 1 Million men’s scent that is housed in an ingot-shaped bottle.   “I dated someone as a teenager who wore that,” she recalled in an exclusive interview. “That bottle is such a vivid memory. I always loved the graphicness and the concept of that gold bar.” Now Hadid has signed on as an ambassador for Rabanne’s new Million Gold for Her fragrance.     With summer wrapping up and heading into fall, Pinterest has unveiled its top trends for the autumn 2024 season, analyzing internal global search data from June 2023 versus June 2024. The social media and the visualization platform have seen a surge in searches for the fall — with users searching for upcoming fashion trends and more. Japan and Japanese-inspired fashion, art, interior design and others associated with the country have seen an uptick in searches — especially as travel to Japan has become a big interest. Searches for “Japan autumn fashion” rose by 140 percent and “Japanese living room design” increased by 135 percent. Nature-inspired patterns, mixed proportion layering, “leopard print” (up 2,990 percent), “camouflage” (up 2,295 percent), oversize coats and “puffer skirt outfits” (up 1,105 percent) are set to be the fall 2024 season’s major focal points. As the growing interest in sports has continued to skyrocket, so too has the fashion associated with it — searches for “jersey with skirt outfit” have increased 2,000 percent.     Diane von Furstenberg is taking back control of her operations. On Friday, the 52-year-old fashion house disclosed that by the end of 2024 the operations will be managed in-house again, and that Graziano de Boni, who joined DVF (Diane von Furstenberg) in October 2023 as chief executive officer, will be overseeing all aspects of the business. He has been reorganizing DVF as well as bringing in some new talent to the business in anticipation of how the company is being re-engineered. He reports to the board of DVF. Since the end of 2020, DVF’s global operations, including design, production, marketing and distribution, have been managed by Glamel Trading Limited in Hong Kong. Glamel will only handle distribution of DVF product in the greater China region going forward.     In Invoice Home's latest U.S. consumer survey, conducted with research from Censuswide, many U.S. consumers said they are taking a different approach to try to save this holiday shopping season. While the last several years have created a shift, increasing early spending consumers believe that the post-Christmas sales will hold the largest discounts from retailers as they try to make up for inflation. Unsurprisingly, 64 percent of U.S. consumers surveyed said that inflation and cost of living will likely impact spending and budgets again this holiday season, followed by credit card interest rates or the unavailability of credit (40 percent) and the outcome of the U.S. presidential election (37 percent). For one in 10 consumers, the strategy to save this season will be to postpone holiday celebrations until 2025, taking advantage of post-holiday sales that have historically seen a 15 to 22 percent discount from December to January.     “I passed the vibe test,” says Simon Rex of how he landed his role in “Blink Twice,” Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut out Friday. When assembling her cast, Kravitz wanted to make sure everyone would be able to hang, given the shoot would require them all to live in the jungle in Mexico together for months. But it wasn’t just vibes for Rex; the actor, 50, is enjoying an act two in his career thanks to Sean Baker’s 2021 movie “Red Rocket,” which introduced Rex to Hollywood as a serious actor to be contended with. Rex, who rose to fame in the ‘90s as an MTV VJ before starring in the “Scary Movie” franchise and the WB’s “What I Like About You,” won best actor at the Indie Spirit Awards for the role, and since then has had scripts coming his way like never before. In addition to “Blink Twice,” he’s just wrapped Nic Pizzolatto’s new movie, alongside Vince Vaughn and Al Pacino, which he says he landed after Pizzolatto saw him in “Red Rocket,” which is just one of eight upcoming films.     Alibaba Group has announced plans to voluntarily change its secondary listing status on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange to a primary listing, effective Aug. 28. The Hangzhou-based technology behemoth will have a dual primary listing on the HKEx and the New York Stock Exchange. The switch would enable Alibaba to tap into a pool of 220 million stock investors in mainland China. These investors can access Alibaba shares via Stock Connect, a mutual market access program between the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Shenzhen Stock Exchange and HKEx. The Swiss running brand, which continues to gain steam and popularity in and outside the running community, is cutting the ribbon Friday of its new megastore on Milan’s central thoroughfare Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, heating up the sportswear competition on the street, which already hosts flagships from the likes of Nike and adidas, for example.
