About us

The Women Tech Council (WTC) focuses on the economic impact of women in driving growth for the technology sector. WTC builds programs that amplify and create tech talent to support more women in technology careers from high school to the board room. Through our programs, WTC offers mentoring, visibility, opportunities and networking to more than 10,000 women and men working in technology, has activated more than 12,000 girls to pursue STEM fields, and helps organizations create business environments focused on high performance, not just diversity, where men and women can succeed. These efforts propel individual careers and the tech talent pipeline by ensuring a strong, diverse, and entrepreneurial technology workforce.

From mentorship to securing funding and expanding professional networks, their dedication has opened doors in every sector—government, education, venture, and more. Some of their accomplishments include: -4 people leading unicorn companies in Silicon Slopes -5 leaders specializing in venture capital -8 leaders involved in K-12 STEM education -10 C-suite leaders -12 board members and advisory roles for top tech companies And, all are mentors to the future generation of women in STEM.     Meet the 2024 Women Tech Awards finalists—a powerful group of 20 visionary women whose impact spans across industries and disciplines. This group has 10 Ph.Ds and master's degrees between them. They are CEOs, VPs, and leaders who are shaping the future of technology in fields ranging from artificial intelligence and biotechnology to renewable energy, education, and cybersecurity. These women have collectively launched groundbreaking technologies, developed life-saving treatments, and secured millions in funding for innovation. They are not only executive leaders, but also mentors, educators, and community champions who are creating pathways for the next generation of women in tech. In this room, you’ll find the trailblazers behind NASA’s Perseverance Rover, the democratization of vision care, and the founding of tech incubators that have transformed Utah into a biotech hub.     Introducing Xinru Page, Associate Professor and Director of the Social Technology and Privacy Lab at Brigham Young University, and a Women Tech Awards finalist. With 20 years of experience in technology, including 15 in academia, Dr. Page's research focuses on designing social technologies that enhance user experience while minimizing harm, particularly for vulnerable populations. She holds a PhD in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, and has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Page is also passionate about advocating for online safety and increasing social media literacy, particularly for individuals on the autism spectrum.     This is Shey Samson Bybee, Vice President at Goldman Sachs and a Women Tech Awards Finalist. With over 15 years of experience in technology and leadership, Shey has led three global teams across the US, EMEA, and Asia, overseeing multimedia operations, technical support, and workplace technology for top executives. Shey earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Information Systems, with a focus on cybersecurity. Originally from the Philippines, Shey moved to the US at 18 to pursue her education and build a career. Alongside her impressive work, she is passionate about mentoring women in tech and actively contributes to diversity and inclusion efforts within Goldman Sachs and the broader community.     Say hello to Misty Dawson, Owner and Principal Consultant of The Jupiter Group and a Women Tech Awards Finalist. With over 25 years in the aerospace and defense industry, Misty has led groundbreaking innovations, from developing flight simulators for military and commercial aircraft to overseeing optics technology for the Mars Perseverance Rover. She holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M and an MBA from Arizona State University. Beyond her career, Misty is a dedicated mentor and a girls' Jr Jazz basketball coach, inspiring future generations both in STEM and in sports.
