  • FEATURED PODCASTER! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve all heard the platitudes “Age is just a number” and “You’re only as old as you feel.” One saying that you’ll hear over and over again from Yvonne Marchese, host of Late Bloomer Living, is “You’re never too old to play.” And she is the poster child of playing in midlife. If you scroll through her Instagram, (and it’s highly recommended that you do so for a daily dose of inspiration) you’ll see Yvonne learning news things on a regular basis. Some of those things are roller skating, playing the ukulele, shuffle dancing, and a 30-day, 11-minute workout challenge. Yvonne calls herself an “age agitator” and at the age of 48, she decided to change the way she looked at aging. This change in her mindset led her to launch Late Bloomer Living. “When I started the podcast, I wanted to do something because I’m leaning more, and more into the idea of living playfully at any age. It’s not about the dancing and it’s not about the skating. It’s about doing what makes you happy,” she says. In her book, “In Full Bloom: A Guide to Aging Playfully,” Yvonne combined her flower photography and definitions of the word “Bloom.” Along with these, she includes a powerful message to guide the reader toward rethinking what it means to age. She wrote the guidebook as a reminder that “midlife is an opportunity for growth, adaptation, and celebration.” As a professional photographer, Yvonne would like to tie the podcast and her photography together in a way that shows women being playful. Read all about Yvonne Marchese in the October issue of Women Who Podcast magazine (womenwhopodcastmag.com).

  • MIC DROP/DROPPED MIC One of the segments in Women Who Podcast magazine is Mic Drop/Dropped the Mic. Mic Drop is the good; Dropped the Mic is the not so good. 👍👎 This segment is all about what's happening in the podcast industry. Here's a few excerpts from the July issue: Mic Drop: In Podcasters We Trust According to Spotify's 2024 Podcast Trends Tour, 63% of people said they trust their favorite podcast host more than their favorite social media influencer. Dropped the Mic: India Untapped India has surged to become the third-largest market for podcast listeners globally, yet only 12% of Indians are currently engaged, leaving a vast untapped audience waiting to be explored. Mic Drop: Podcast Consumption Undercounted Fourteen percent of podcast listeners say they listen with someone else. Thirty percent listen with friends and twenty-eight percent listen with family. Among weekly listeners, seventy-one percent listen to new episodes within a day. Sixty-four percent of women listen to back episodes; compared to men at fifty-five percent and weekly podcast consumers at fifty-nine percent. Dropped the Mic: Spotify No Longer IAB Certified This means that Spotify's podcast services, including Megaphone, Chartable, and Spotify for Podcasters, are no longer IAB certified. Spotify says they are still compliant with the latest standard, but without a third-party audit, some question whether this is true. • New Painting Your Path Episode! I had the most wonderful conversation with Clarissa Castillo-Ramsey, host of Painting Your Path podcast. Here are the show notes for the episode: There are people you meet that you instantly connect with. Kathy is one of those people. We talked about leaving a small town, following dreams, and visions. One of her ideas was to start a magazine for independent women podcasters. If you’re a woman podcaster, you’ll want to hear this episode. Her magazine has covered topics like podcast shaming, fear of speaking (which was something I had big time), and how to monetize without advertising. About Kathy: Kathy Barron is the Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Women Who Podcast magazine. Her vision is to is give independent women podcasters the accolades they deserve and build a supportive community for podcasters to evolve and succeed. Kathy also loves to cut digital film, ride her e-bike around town, and being in and on the water. Please consider writing a review and rating Painting Your Path podcast. It helps the podcast get seen and connected with those who need it. I (Clarissa) am creating custom phone screen art for the first 100 reviews as a special thank you. Thank you again for being on the Painting Your Path podcast! Thank you, Clarissa Castillo-Ramsey PsyD, for having me on your show! Be sure to listen to our episode of Painting Your Path wherever you listen to podcasts!
